The Restorative Power of Gratitude
As the week comes to a close, it’s easy to remember the things we didn’t finish, the moments that felt heavy or the places we wish we had shown up differently. But gratitude has a way of softening those edges. It doesn’t erase what was difficult, but it shifts the way we hold it. In Yoga Nidra, even a simple reflection on one thing we’re grateful for can calm the nervous system and invite a state of rest. Gratitude opens the door to presence. Take a moment to pause. Breathe. And let one memory, one small thing you’re thankful for this week, rise to the surface. What is it for you? SHARE it below. Your gratitude might spark someone else’s. Remember to SIGN UP to the Virtual Gratitude Experience! ✧ Sept 21, 2025 | 10AM PT | Virtual ✧ 90 min online gathering ✧ Invite only (You have to Sign Up!) ✧ meaningful connection, reflection, and, of course, gratitude. ✧ mission: leaving people better than we find them.

So grateful for the question Chris raised : who do you think you haven't been express gratitude enough? To me it was the core of this event. It gave me the courage to express it to an old parent wich is near the end of her life, and to receive her blessing for this yesterday. And much gratitude for this space that Ayla crew creates here.
The Power of the Sankapla
Have you ever noticed how much energy goes into wanting things to change? The mind pushes, resists, or wrestles… and it leaves us tired. A sankalpa is different. It isn’t about pushing. It’s about planting, like placing a seed in fertile soil and trusting the rhythm of nature to unfold in its own time. If your heart could whisper one sentence right now, just one seed of truth, what would it say? If you feel comfortable, SHARE it here. When spoken into a community, our intentions often take deeper root.

Why Everyone Needs a Cat 😻
Today is Cat's birthday, and I want to take a moment to acknowledge this incredible woman. I truly would not be here without her. She is a soul mate in the truest sense. Before we met, we lived like ships in the night. Her name floating through circles of aviation and hospitality, but when she landed in my life… there was no turning back. Some of you may already know this story… but Cat and I officially became friends when I was diagnosed with cancer. She brought food to the hospital and my house. She started a meal train and messaged me every day while I was in treatment. In the middle of a health crisis, I didn’t imagine I’d be making new friends, but this acquaintance became my lifeline. Cat is nurturing. Endlessly loving. A natural at creating community and connection. I love her ability to whip up anything in the kitchen, and to this day, she still cooks for me... no matter where we are in life or in the world. In Yoga Nidra, Annamaya Kosha translates as the food body (the physical body), the part of us that needs nourishment and care. And that’s what Cat offers in every moment: Nourishment. Not just through meals, but through presence, humour, love, and the sacred art of showing up. Happy Birthday, my Cat. You are a gift. You always have been. I will be with her soon and have travelled over mountains to see her... My turn to prepare a meal for you. In full transparency, I'll be taking you for dinner @Cat Jones we both know that's for the best. 😂

Happy birthday Cat! It's the right day to thank you for the delicacy of your words, the few times we talked together. 🌹
Respira Per Anum
Sea cucumbers — breathe through their cloaca. Yes. Not only do they exist, they inhale oxygen — anally. Imagine gasping for life — through your ass. Sometimes this is what I need. Because what even is survival, if not an awkward breath from somewhere unexpected? When the world offers no obvious oxygen, you breathe through what you have. Through the absurd, the undignified — the laughter we're told to hide. Through the joke that gets you reported to admins. Hope we survive this day too. Healing begins with deep rest — with acceptance of what is. From releasing control. Breathing — through our whole being. May we all find our cloaca.

it's 2 am here, sleep is far away but I read your holoturuian poetry and smile... and remember about the storie of Souen Wu Kong, the monkey king of the Chinese legend. After seeking for immortality for centuries, he refused reaching it because he had to reincarnate in a sea cucumber in order to reach it... and couldn't accept such a vile reincarnation!

Please join me in giving a heartfelt welcome to Sam, who will be supporting Cat and me behind the scenes as we continue to nurture this beautiful community! A little bit about Sam: 🚗 He’s a huge car enthusiast. 🏸 He’s competed at the state level in badminton (so yes, he’s got a competitive streak... and a compassionate heart!) 🧘‍♂️ Meditation has been woven into his life since before he was even born — his mom meditated daily throughout her pregnancy, nurturing the calm energy he naturally carries. After connecting with Sam, I can truly say his energy is welcoming, steady, and filled with genuine kindness. He embodies the spirit of Nova Nidra: peaceful, grounded, and open-hearted. ✨ Let’s make Sam feel at home! ✨ Drop a comment below and share one of your favourite passions or hobbies — maybe you’ll discover something you have in common with him!
