Step 1
Step 1: Schedule Success. I'd like to thank Mr. Brown, my High School Business teacher for that little tidbit of advice he gave me after I complained I had a full time job and was struggling with his book report. Now, 22 years later, I still remember walking away from that conversation wondering WTH it was supposed to mean. Fortunately, I've figured it out. I set out to study to become a MLO. Everything in life has fought me in doing it, from fostering 2 kids, working a 12 hour night shift, having courses for work, courses for foster care, taxes, church, and day to day living " Stuff". I had a headlight go out and a tire go flat in less than 6 hours. But I'd like to say I set out to do 12 courses on compliance ( really dry material if your wondering) before starting my actual MLO course to see if I could even take on schooling. I'm glad to say I finished those 12 courses today. I am now waiting on the dates to start my MLO courses. Everything in life can give you a reason to not be successful. No time, no energy, no money.. situations seemingly out of your control. Life has a way of doing that. You can always find some reason not to do the things that bring happiness and success into your life. You have to schedule success into your life, and that..is step 1. You can dream, make a plan, do everything but make time and you'll never get what your wanting out of it unless you make the time to actually do it. That's my word of wisdom for the day, thank Mr. Brown, I'll keep you guys posted on my journey.
Introduction
Hi everyone! I got licensed as an LO in May last year, and only worked off and on, so I've only done 3 loans. I joined here last November but haven't really put any effort into my business since around Thanksgiving. Now that the holidays are over and the new year is in full swing, I am making a push to ramp up. I have no past clients to work with an no referral partners. I've gotten a few poor quality leads from FB ads, and have made cold calls to people for refinances without much luck. Now I'm ready to really get serious and close some loans. What is the best next step for me? Thanks!

@Bridgett Neto create them. That's what he means, that's what he's trying to drive home. By going out and just helping others, say a real estate agent has an upcoming open house. Call that agent and say hey I see you have an open house, do you mind if I come help out with it? Then do it. When your out there helping others they become more familiar with you and are more likely to send you referrals. Help others build THEIR business and they will help you build your business.
