Claude vs ChatGPT for long-form client work. Claude handles long documents better and follows complex instructions more reliably. ChatGPT is faster for quick drafts and brainstorming. i use both in the same workflow depending on the task
Thatโs pretty much how I split it too. One extra thingโIโve found Claude better for maintaining tone across long pieces, but I still run final edits in ChatGPT for tightening + variations. The combo works way better than forcing one tool to do everything.
Client asked me to repurpose one long blog into social posts + email content. Used AI to draft everything and then edited it manually. What surprised me was how much faster it got once I stopped trying to make AI perfect on the first try. Now I just treat it like a rough assistant. Curious though โ how do you guys price this kind of work? Per piece or package?
Good shift on the workflow โ thatโs exactly how to use AI. For pricing, Iโd avoid per piece here. Bundle it as a โcontent systemโ or monthly package tied to output (e.g. X posts + emails per week). Clients care more about consistency than individual assets.
Shortwave is great when youโre managing scale + multiple clients. But if your system is solid in Gmail already, filters + labels can get you 80% there for free. Shortwave is more of a โproductivity layer,โ not a necessity.
Honestly, most of my work still runs on a very small stack: - ChatGPT - Google Docs - Notion The difference is in how you use them, not how many you have. If youโre overwhelmed, try this:Pick ONE workflow (like content writing or inbox management) and optimize it deeply before adding anything new. Tool hopping = hidden time drain.
Focus on solving problems, not offering services. Clients donโt really care if youโre a โVAโ โ they care if you can save them time, make them money, or reduce stress. Position yourself around that early.
