The side control options from Q&A
I was not sure if there was an option to comment on videos. @James Driskill, not sure if your plan to but I would love to see some expansion about the three cross side/side control positions. I intend to do X and then if they block X I go to Y. Just like you hinted in the video. From a perspective of dealing with side control. I loved how simply you showed those

Teaching Kids classes
kids classes being 45 minutes long. I see so many schools now doing 45 minute kids classes. Am I just old in that I have a hard time pulling that trigger? I know I could create some more time slots by doing that but even with the hour I have I feel like I need an hour and a half sometimes. Even when I wrestled at 13, practice was an hour and a half plus. I goof and make fun with my kids a ton and I get that takes time out but I feel like the extra time I take messing with the kids is so fun and important.

@Andy DeJesus Ya know, I did for a month awhile back start bowing out 15 minutes early and calling out kids with grey belts to stay. It was great. The one thing I did not at the time know how to deal with was, the other kids saying "why can't I stay" or "did I do something wrong".

New variation to a move
Share one new variation or adjustment that you’ve been working on. I have a lot of success with the closed guard flower sweep, but I saw a variation shared by Chang in a previous QA that I started hitting instantly. Drilled it a bit to acquire the feel and adjust as needed, then started hitting it in live rounds. So simple but effective.

When I have a chance anymore, I have been putting myself in closed guard to work something Scott gave to me to work on. Using my connection and base to open their guard yet not letting them be able to budge and get a knee shield in or feet on hips. Other than this, I am such a basic bit** in Jiu Jitsu
Focus for the week (underhooks)
This week, insist on winning the battle for the undertook. Underhooks are gold. They give you control over shoulder rotation and linear movement along the spinal axis toward the feet. Side control, back control, mount, half guard, butterfly guard, standing clinch. All made easier by winning the underhook. Double unders is often such an advantage that a small person can control a large person easily in many situations.
