Focus for the week (nature)
This week, get out and spend time in whatever is as close to the wilderness as you can get. Even if that just means standing on your balcony in the sunshine. Ocean would be better. Or forest. If you can’t find time this week then plan a camping trip. Those who lose touch with nature seem sad to me. We are solar panels and should absorb sunshine on as much of the surface of our bare skin as possible. Go out and get naked in the sun. ☀️

Frame then.... underhook ha I usually frame but funny enough I had a chance to train with some blackbelts (its been awhile) the other day and I found myself only able to look and find underhooks.

@Nick Milla Nice! Ha we are just finishing up a half guard series for the month. I am going to look into this. Also I should have specified, just in case. I love the farside spinning armbar

@Nick Milla totally agree. Instead of spinning i think of it in stages. What helps me be more successful is maintaining a more 45 degrees on the shoulder to eliminate the elbow frame. Then I setup by dragging across their sternum as if to attack the kimure/straight arm. When they hunker down I pull them into me. Opposite arm helps drag them and hold them in place by posting on the ground. Then I step over and rotate. The thing I like to do to maintain heavy is I drag my hips across the face. Pulling traction on the arm. I like this setup because at certain points I can change direction back the the fig 4, modified N/S Ill.have to see if I can figure out how to do a video on here ha

Here is a different look at the trap and roll aka upa. The head movement made a huge detail for me so wanted to share.

This is how I look at sweeps/reversals in a way. I like the cue "move your head out of the way". I am going to play around with that cue for students. When I did a little of Judo, I had a hard time with a lot of throws because I would stop with my head. The brothers always keep showing me to "look with where I wanted to throw". This changed how I swept people in Jiu Jitsu and teach that to students.
