I want to share my experience with lessons and why I went primarily remote with a touch of hybrid. This is going to be focused on why it benefits the player and the parents more than me. Players, how many times have you gone to a 1:1 lesson and retained every single detail of what was taught and was ready to build off of what you worked on the next week? Never. Unless the lesson is recorded and you go back and rewatch it. Players, how many times did you not clearly understand something being taught and think “I’ll just ask next lesson.” There’s precious time wasted where you could be getting better. Players, how motivated are you to go hit on your own or with your teammates? Two points to that question. If the answer is “I like to hit with my coach” I don’t think you are working much in between lessons, and if the answer is “it’s my favorite thing to do” then you are definitely a candidate for a remote coach. The reason I say this is when you are doing a 1:1 you are paying for someone’s time. When you are doing remote lessons, you are paying for someone’s knowledge and guidance. Now there are plenty of other benefits to remote as well. Jantzen has set up a dynamite program that covers all aspects of what you are going through in baseball at your level. Want to get recruited? Well when you’re doing remote lessons, you are going to be taking a lot of video of swings. Guess what college coaches want to see right now? You. Outside of playing in front of them, how else are they going to see you? You learn how to create and cut videos to send to your remote coach, and that will allow you gain the skill set to ultimately create that video you send off to colleges. Remote/Hybrid lessons allow you to touch base with your remote coach as often as you like. The program is money, and I definitely wish there was something like this when I was in high school. Have any questions, or want to work with me? Please reach out! PS - all the coaches here are money, and can’t go wrong with any of them!
