I’m Curious… Has This Happened to You?
Hi everyone! Welcome to all of our new members! I want to get a convo started 👀 What were you misdiagnosed with before realizing it was perimenopause/menopause?

Fibromyalgia chronic fatigue Lyme disease migraines insomnia depression anxiety Chronic pain. A lot of symptoms have improved greatly but not on optimal levels yet.
Introduction
Hello- I’m a 52 yo from Vermont who was in TN with my soul mate living my life when I apparently experienced a sudden plummet of estrogen. I had very little warning but do know every single ‘light’ symptom leading up to it which took just over a month. Things I never expected or even knew were part of peri or meno. It sent me to the ED several times which included an over night stay but nothing was found except some common things like anemia AND electrolytes plummeting over night. I ended up having to come home to Vermont because I was convinced I was dying. My worst symptoms were adrenaline surges and staying awake for 3 days, constant fight or flight, frequenting the ED and demanding to see my specialists who were great. I saw my endo upon returning home and he told me almost immediately I was in estrogen withdrawal. So I started estrogen and am now in week 8 combined patch with one increase and started progesterone oral about a week and a half ago. Unsure if now I am getting too much estrogen but I’m tired and don’t want to keep going thru all Of these disturbing symptoms (dizziness, faintness, heavy body feeling, feelings of waning to pass out) mostly these are getting better but the brain fog and feeling strange have not completely gone away. My mom and sister breezed thru meno so I thought I’d be ok. This has been a journey that has made me frightened of everything and constant incessant health anxiety. I hope everyone here is learning and getting well again ♥️

I struggled for years with health issues that were undiagnosable and never once was hormones mentioned. I think I’m on the right track now but it’s a long journey. Not going to get better overnight. I have to still talk myself off the ledge when I’m feeling shitty. Hang in with it.
Perimenopause/Menopause Anxiety? 🫠
Do you ever feel like your body is stuck in fight or flight… for no clear reason? 🫠 Hormonal fluctuations during perimenopause are notorious for dysregulating your nervous system and throwing your body into fight or flight for absolutely no reason at all. 😑 These hormonal changes/decline can triggering lots of concerning & uncomfortable symptoms… 👉🏻 Anxiety/Panic 👉🏻 Intrusive Thoughts 👉🏻 Heart Palpitations 👉🏻 Chest Tightness 👉🏻 Oxygen Hunger 👉🏻 Muscle tightness in your neck & shoulders 👉🏻 Racing Heart 👉🏻 Light Sensitivity 👉🏻 Sound Sensitivity 👉🏻 Irritability 👉🏻 Emotional Outbursts 👉🏻 Insomnia 👉🏻 Feeling ‘on edge’ If this sounds familiar, you’re not crazy and you’re definitely not alone 💛

Yes yes yes yes check check check. Practitioners telling me I just need to mediate, get better sleep, do yoga, breathing exercises, supplements , therapy which are all great but I could not get my body out of it. Now gotten better with better E therapy. Not perfect yet but feeling moments of calm mental and physical is something I never thought I’d feel again..
Hello from Las Vegas!
I'm 53 and have been struggling to feel like "myself" for 6 years. It's been a journey of seeing all kinds of practioners and not receiving much help. Started HRT May 2025 and haven't found the right delivery method... I've had creams patches, and now pellets but symptoms of brain fog, dizziness, vertigo, frozen shoulder are back! Hoping to find the right support and get my hormones in balance.

@Christina Aldendifer same!!! I have suffered about 15 years.
My story
I am grateful for the opportunity to share my peri menopause story. It started back in February of this year. If you don't think menopause psychosis isn't real, it is. It hit me hard, I spent 3 nights in the mental hospital on 3 different occasions, total black out. Drs would not do blood work, said I was schizophrenic. I had never had any mental health problems up until the age of 48 when peri hit me. It took 4 Drs and many months of anxiety, tremors and heart ache before finding a Dr that would do blood work and listen to me. I am now on progesterone and estrogen, and am healed. Ladies, fight for yourself. If anyone out there has any questions or needs to vent, feel free to reach out, we all needs friends right now that are going through what we are. Much love to you all.
