Favorite call?
What’s that call that always gets you fired up when coach sends it in?

my favorite call was when coach called for me(3tech) to stunt to the a gap nd let the lb blitz the b gap instead of his normal a.. it cause so much confusion due to the speed our defense had in the front 7
Ideal size
I'm currently in my grade 10 season of highschool, playing tackle Right now I'm 6' 2" 215ibs, which I feel like is pretty small for my position. Right now im usually only put in for long yardage situations, and our other DT (who's about 315ibs) goes in for short yardages I'm obviously going to the gym but muscle and weight still comes on slowly, an I undersized?

I would say you aren’t undersized for a DT. I was a DL(DE/DT) in hs at 6’2, 217 when the season started. All you need to get on the field more is be a pass rush threat everytime you step on the field, a quick first step does it since you’re likely 40+ pounds smaller than the average IOL. When it’s a run play you need to show your coach that you’re gonna clog your gap and make plays in the run game. As long as you have a solid block shed and you can rush the passer you’ll be just fine because now it’s up to coach to beef up the rest of the DL around you to make up for the run stopping presence.

Coincidentally we also had another DT that was 5’7 145 pounds and he was able to rush the passer well and hold his own in the run game so coach had no choice but to rotate him in as well
Scouting
When assessing game film. Do you have your linemen self-evaluate and bring those materials to practice? If so, what things are you having them look for outside of the normal gap responsibilities, physicality, and running to the ball? We are implementing a new scouting report and trying to help put my guys in the best position to win. Thanks in advance.

You want to make sure your guys are grading themselves on each play so they know how they need to improve. Tell them to watch the film when it uploads and grade themselves and write down what they were good with and what they struggled with and then as the coaching staff you guys need to grade them as well and compare notes with the players so you can see who’s learning what they need to catch on film and you can correct or applaud the pros and cons they found from their play. I want my players to watch and see did they read their keys and communicate when appropriate before they play, are they noticing the pass or run tendencies from the ol or alignments of the offense, are we attacking the v of the neck on every play and are we either winning/stalemating/losing each rep.
Turning pressures into sacks
I had 2 pressures in a row in this spring exhibition game, the high school last game i played. With me facing the start of the preseason in a couple days, I was wondering if I could get some pointers that could’ve helped turn these pressures, into sacks? (sorry for the poor film) Clip 30 I am lined up in a 5 tech against the RT Clip 31 I am lined up in a 5 tech against the LT

You just have to keep firing off the ball like you are and you’ll wear down the OL and the sacks will come naturally over the course of the game. Keep striking your keys on the OL and keep practicing your pass rush moves so you can get off your block a little quicker. Perfect your rip and bull rush since those were the moves you used in the clips. Do you have any combos that you prefer to use
Prevent
How can I prevent them from pulling me down while being double team

Always make sure you take the double team head on at your key and make contact first, you’ll end up losing almost everytime if you allow the offense to get their hands on you first. I don’t know your player archetype but if you are a faster DL then a great tip would be to win off the ball+ strong hands every single time because you can beat them to their spot if you have a quicker first step than the OL. If you’re a power guy then you need to strike first and fight through the double team, keep your feet driving and keep your hands in the sweet spot your coach teaches you guys to strike and use block shed techniques to defeat the block
