Hi, im new. So, a happy memory. Hmmmm right now I am making happy memories. But the only other thing I can think of is when I got chosen to join a flute program on scholarship called "For the love of flute" put on by Katy Wherry. And she taught me that it was ok to call myself a "Flutist" and she taught me that "I am a FLUTIST". This all goes back to High school when I really wanted to play flute but I wasnt rich, pretty, or a cool kid. I also have low self esteem. Flute was only for the Rich, popular, cool girls. So, its been a goal to be a "Flutist" and through Katys program I gained confidence, tools, and the inspiration that I needed to further my flute playing journey and the the ability to say "Yes, I am a flutist". And the fact that Katy chose me, is HUGE. I wish she knew how much of an impact she has made in my life. Its HUGE !!! So, thats my Happy Flute-Memory.

Today I joined the Flutarians, a community of virtuosos flutists who believe that improvising can be freeing, not stressful. When I first started, I felt anxious - like a guinea pig caught in flood. But now I am learning to improvise with inspiration and without confusion. My tone feels more iridescent every time I play. Even perfect pete has started to notice! I am already improvising in at work. I am an improviser! Every day I am becoming a more confident improviser. I trust my gut. With each improvisation I am letting go of fear. With each musical phrase, I am finding & expressing my unique musical voice. I improvise! I am committed to scales. I will not be defeated by the feeling of being overwhelmed; My future self is grateful to my present self for taking it one step at a time. I am a Flutarian, and I am improving my improvising!

This is super fun !!! My daughter said my spirit animal is a Guinea pig. I guess it works, I do make funny noises and outbursts at weird times at home.

Just a mom & wife that loves 2 make music & loves her lil animal farm. Flute, Cello, bass, piano, guitar. Horses, cats, fish, and dogs OH MY !!!
