Just Arriving In
Hello, my name is Bejah. I am interested in learning how to get back into self-care more than anything. After neglecting myself for years due to relationships and life taking its course. I am 24 and I’ve been in a five-year relationship. Basically, the whole of high school career, and then a three-year relationship. So I “lost myself”. I’m also trying to get into herbalism. Due to my becoming a healthier version of myself, I’m losing weight. I’m a vegetarian/pescatarian. I was raised as a Vegan Rastafarian. I’m just trying to get back into, actually knowing what each herb is and how I can use it within my regimen. To become a bit healthier. My goal is to be clean inside and out. I battle with acne and very bad cramps. I want to work on naturally solving those issues. I want to stop taking pills eventually, and I wanna see if maybe if I do like a full ledge clean of my inside, that might improve my acne and cramps. Sleep is also a big issue. I am getting better, but I still have bad nights. This is an issue for 2 reasons. I feel as though I never had a real sleep schedule. I would stay up all night until I'm too tired to stay up , and eventually conk out. The next reason is a hard one. I am relearning how to sleep by myself again... I really lack a lot of consistency, being that I don’t really know what I am doing. I am willing to learn and actually take it seriously to implement it into my life and journey.

Hello, my beautiful, busy bees! 🌸 So many of you have stated you need to find the time to practice self-care. Well, I can't create more minutes in the day (I'm good but not that good LOL) but I can give you a few suggestions on how to make some extra minutes, yes I said minutes, in your day to give yourself some love. Remember, self-care doesn't have to be a spa day or a week-long retreat (though those are lovely too!). It's about finding those little pockets of time to check in with yourself and show yourself some TLC. Here are some ideas that even the busiest of us can squeeze into our day: ~ The 5-minute morning miracle: Rise and shine just 5 minutes earlier. Use this time for a quick meditation, gentle stretching, or savoring your coffee in peaceful silence. It's amazing how just 5 minutes can set the tone for your entire day! ~ Breathe, darling, breathe: Take 3-5 deep breaths before starting a new task. It only takes seconds, but it can help you feel grounded and centered. ~ Gratitude while you brush: While you're brushing those pearly whites, mentally list three things you're grateful for. Multitasking at its finest! ~ Aromatherapy on-the-go: Keep a tiny bottle of your favorite essential oil in your bag. A quick sniff can be instantly calming or energizing, depending on what you need. ~ Desk yoga, anyone?: For my office warriors, try some simple stretches right at your desk. Your body will thank you! ~ Mindful munching: Choose one meal a day to eat mindfully. Really savor those flavors and textures. It's like a mini meditation session! ~ Nature's calling: Take a minute to look out the window and soak in some nature. Watch the clouds drift by or listen to the birds sing. It's a moment of peace in a busy day. ~ Positive post-its: Stick some uplifting messages on your mirror or computer. A little self-love goes a long way! ~ Digital detox hour: Set aside one hour before bed to unplug. Your mind (and sleep cycle) will thank you. ~ Two-minute journaling: Jot down your thoughts for just a couple of minutes before bed or first thing in the morning. It's amazing how much clarity this can bring!

These resonated with me the most for different reasons: ~ The 5-minute morning miracle: Rise and shine just 5 minutes earlier. Use this time for a quick meditation, gentle stretching, or savoring your coffee in peaceful silence. It's amazing how just 5 minutes can set the tone for your entire day! *I have already implemented a workout in my morning routine. I wanted to implement stretching right after I wake up and get out of bed, and before bed ~ Breathe, darling, breathe: Take 3-5 deep breaths before starting a new task. It only takes seconds, but it can help you feel grounded and centered. *My job is tedious. I feel like I need to breathe more. ~ Gratitude while you brush: While you're brushing those pearly whites, mentally list three things you're grateful for. Multitasking at its finest! *I want to get into being more grateful and practicing Gratitude. ~ Aromatherapy on-the-go: Keep a tiny bottle of your favorite essential oil in your bag. A quick sniff can be instantly calming or energizing, depending on what you need. *I forgot how much I loved Aromatherapy. I had a misty contraption that I loved peppermint. I actually have one at my office. I will start using. I will look into something on the go. ~ Nature's calling: Take a minute to look out the window and soak in some nature. Watch the clouds drift by or listen to the birds sing. It's a moment of peace in a busy day. *I go outside on my break already. I usually am on my phone, though. I changed that. ~ Digital detox hour: Set aside one hour before bed to unplug. Your mind (and sleep cycle) will thank you. *Need to start this. ~ Two-minute journaling: Jot down your thoughts for just a couple of minutes before bed or first thing in the morning. It's amazing how much clarity this can bring! *This is part of my goals for next month. Writing in my Diary every day.
