Price Debates vs. Purchase Decisions
Every time a new release drops, the same thing happens: price wars in the comments. Bleu de Chanel L’Exclusif is the latest to get the “too expensive, niche pricing” treatment. So why the hate? For me, pricing is not a love-it-or-hate-it factor. It comes down to one simple decision: will I buy it, or won’t I? And here is where Chanel is different. A lot of people still call them designer, but I personally see Chanel as a heritage house. They have been in the fragrance game for over a century with Chanel No. 5 launching in 1921, and their catalog has shaped perfumery in a way few brands can claim. At some point, history, artistry, and consistency earn that status. I bought the new Bleu because I have always loved Bleu and the grown up idea behind L’Exclusif sounded good. To me, it lived up to my hopes, and that is why I would buy it again. Honestly, I have not found a Creed or Xerjoff I enjoy more. In the end, I think your taste is your taste. Does it really matter what other people buy? I am happy with what is on my shelf. Shouldn’t that be the point?
