Trying to up my NEAT (non exercise activity thermosis)
Didn’t get to the gym much this week but have been upping my taking of the stairs, walks, 1 mile runs…this evening after dinner I went for a long walk. Felt amazing. How might you up your NEAT next week?

Accidental mammoth day for NEAT today: had an event at work across 3 different locations in the building which I set up by myself, then kept operations going throughout. Ending the day on 21,000 steps on top of having lifted chairs and tables from place to place, as well as a keyboard, flip chart stand and large screen. Then I finished work and went to Pilates 😴😴

After sitting with my planner yesterday, I realised that my fitness has been a bit stagnant. I need a new target. I need to get back to hitting the gym 3-4 times a week. I need to focus on reaching my strength goals. So 6.30 spin it is. What’s one thing you are committing to this week to move your body more?

Adding in a strength training class once a week this month (with the potential to add another further down the line) on top of weekly pilates and 10-12k steps per day. Went for the first time on Saturday and it was HARD, my muscles feel very sore, but I'm proud of myself for showing up and managing something at each station. Feel like I needed the boost and to achieve something as my body's still recovering from Christmas.

I love doing a big casserole dish dinner at the weekend, usually a Sunday night, then having the leftovers ready for a very easy Monday dinner. Favourites are: Lasagne (boil the sheets first, they'll expand and you'll need fewer. Add some reduced fat garlic & herb phili to the bechamel for extra flavour). Cottage pie (the Pinch of Nom recipe is great. A little parmesan on top is perfect for a wee treat). Sausage casserole (I've yet to find a replacement or recipe for the homepride jar sauce, it's what my granny used to make and I'm emotionally attached, but i haven't seen it in the shops in ages) All of these are super easy to bung a load of veg into and pad out. Another favourite weekend dinner is the Aldi king kebab with loads of salad in a flatbread. (Not a complex dinner, it just takes a while in the oven)
Weekly win time…
I always celebrate my wins on a Friday, it helps me stay on track over the weekend. Post your wins anytime across the weekend…just make sure you post. Share whatever feels right. I’m sharing that I lost 5lbs this week, so only 2lbs away from my pre Xmas weight…happy with that.

I have gone full time at work (from 4 days p/w) and I've actually had the energy to cope with it because I've been tracking my sleep and implementing better sleep habits. I've slotted right back into business as usual with nutrition, steps and my weekly pilates class, and have workshopped the best way to add strength training into my routine. I then tried a strength class this morning which I think is a winner!
Welcome...you are in the right place
Welcome to Lose Weight with the Help of AI 👋 I’m really glad you’re here. If you’ve joined with a mix of hope, scepticism, excitement, and “I hope this works this time”… you’re exactly where you need to be. This isn’t a diet group. This isn’t about willpower, punishment, or starting again on Monday. And this definitely isn’t a place where you have to perform, share numbers, or pretend you’ve got it all figured out. This community exists for one reason:to help you lose weight by building better systems, habits, and thinking patterns, with AI as a practical support tool, not a bossy expert. Here’s how this space works: – Small steps beat big promises – Curiosity beats judgement – Progress beats perfection – Systems beat motivation You don’t need to be “good with tech”.You don’t need to track everything, you don’t need to be consistent yet. You just need to show up and be honest. What I ask from you: – Post when you can, even if it’s messy – Comment with curiosity, not advice – Use the AI prompts as thinking tools, not rules – Stay kind to yourself and others What you can expect from me: – Simple prompts that help you notice patterns – A focus on reducing friction, not adding effort – Zero shame, zero shouting, zero nonsense –A steady nudge towards changes you can actually sustain Let’s start gently. 🐾 Please introduce yourself: – Your first name – One thing you’ve already tried (no judgement) – One thing you’d love to feel different in the next 30 days With a photo if you are feeling brave...this is a community first and foremost, and we are building trust, friendships, shared learning. You don’t need to be clever or inspiring, you just need to be real. You’re in. You belong here.Let’s take the first small step together. 🚨FYI - If you are looking for all the techy things, head over to the Classroom area...but only when you are ready.

Hi I'm Hannah, I've been using chat GPT since August and was part of the first cohort on the fb page. Apprehensive about moving over to a new space, but more apprehensive about losing the support system. Edit to add, now that I have the app and can see what I'm typing: I've lost 15kg since starting this journey, I've started going to pilates weekly, my sleep is better, and I am more mindful of my mindset. I love that it is not a strict "one size fits all" plan, but instead highly customisable to me and my life. Since working with AI I've had 2 holidays and a full 2 weeks "off" at Christmas, and I've still come back to my new normal right away each time. I like having the accountability and community aspect of the group, and am keen to keep this going throughout 2026 and beyond.
