Rooted Alchemy family, we just surpassed 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. Wow. Back in August, who would have thought we would build a Tai Chi community of over 100,000 people practicing together from all over the world. This journey has been incredibly humbling, and we’re deeply grateful to every single one of you who has been here, practicing, watching, and growing with us. We’re excited for what the future holds and grateful for your patience as we continue building intentionally behind the scenes. Just know that we’re still early, and there is so much more to come. And a huge thank you to Sonny for practicing, teaching, and learning with such depth and integrity that it naturally spread far and wide. Stay the course.

Day 10 So, today I went back to some fundamentals. Looking at walking drills, lots of them, followed by the Winter Qigong lesson and some ocean stepping, Beijing 24 style, silk reeling. A nice varied way to finish Jayda’s 10 day Challenge. 🙏 Before - Relaxed, but with a somewhat anticipatory air. Looking forward to the start of my day. Aware that there is something addictive about this, and revelling in that addiction. After- Smiling both at the practice which left me feeling quite bouncy or light on my feet and at the ending the 10 day challenge. Thankyou Sonny (and everyone at RA) You are the Yoda of the TaiChi world….. if a little taller 🤷🏻‍♂️😊🙏

What’s Coming Next at Rooted Alchemy in 2026
As we come to the end of this year, we just want to pause and say thank you. This community has grown into something truly special—curious, grounded, supportive, and alive with practice. We’re deeply grateful for every breath you’ve taken with us, every question you’ve asked, and every moment you’ve shown up. As we step into the new year, our intention remains the same: To help you build a steady, embodied, and meaningful Tai Chi & Qigong practice that fits real life. Here’s a look at what we’re excited to bring to you very soon in the new year👇 - Posture Lab (New Community Tab) : We’re creating a new tab as one of the most efficient and supportive ways to grow your practice online. This will be a dedicated space where you can post a photo or short video of your posture or movement and receive real-time feedback and guidance. It’s designed to expand your understanding through exploration and curiosity, not perfection. Posture Lab is here to help you deepen your practice and feel supported—even at a distance. - Beijing 24 Form – Section 2 : We’ll begin teaching Section 2 of the Beijing 24 Form through live sessions. These will be taught in real time so you can learn, ask questions, and receive feedback as you go. All sessions will be recorded and uploaded to the classroom, so you can revisit, repeat, and practice at your own pace. - Tai Chi Stick + Course : We’re excited to introduce handcrafted Tai Chi sticks, made with care, alongside a dedicated Tai Chi Stick course. This will add a tactile, playful, and grounding layer to your practice—something you can feel, explore, and grow with. More details coming soon, but we can already say: this one’s going to be fun. - Affiliate Program : Making Tai Chi and Qigong more accessible is one of the core pillars of our mission, and how people begin truly matters. This invitation is a way to gently guide others toward a well-supported start with the right tools, methods, and teaching. If you help open that door for someone, we’re grateful and happy to give back in return.

Haven't tried the stick drills yet. Is it fairly advanced? Or would us newbies get something out of it?
2026, The Year of the Red Horse
I grew up in South Korea and like many East Asian cultures, we follow the Chinese zodiac (12 animals that rotate each year) In 2026, it’s the Year of the Horse… and not just any horse, but a RED ONE🐴 My sign is also the horse, and I know us pretty well. Horses in the zodiac are usually associated with movement, energy, and freedom. They don’t like being stuck. They’re drawn to forward motion, exploration, and self-expression. On the top of that, the color red adds another layer. In Chinese culture, red is everywhere. It’s connected to good luck, life energy, and protection. You see it a lot during Lunar New Year, weddings, and other celebrations. So a "Red Horse" year feels like a mix of movement, momentum, and vitality, encouraging us to keep going, but with heart and intention not just rushing forward. I think this connects really well with our Tai Chi and Qigong practice that we’ve been cultivating here in the community. The other day, when we were shooting content with @Kirby Mannon and @Maya Rodriguez , Sonny said something that really stayed with me: “We have to think about intention rather than expectation.” It lingered with me for days because it made me realize how often (sometimes for years) I’ve been rushing myself and expecting results instead of enjoying the journey itself. So this is my personal intention with this community this year: I want to help create an experience that brings you back to why you started this journey. Because we’re learning how to study these arts, and also study ourselves. Would love to hear yours as well. - “What’s your intention this year?” Thank you as always for your contributions, and HELLO to 2026!! 🧧

Apparently, I’m in the Year of the Sheep, which I suppose isn’t that “baaaa’d” ;-) or sometimes the Goat—neither of which exactly scream manly grrrr! Still, my daily Qigong certainly does, and I’m still smiling, six weeks into this new adventure. So, intention-wise, aiming not to miss a single day’s practice sounds like a solid place to start. Truthfully I'm more than a little blown away by how good I feel with all this stuff. Thanks RA, one and all :-)
