🎤 [Call for Interviews] Looking for coffee lovers to feature in my French newsletter!
Hi everyone, I’m currently looking to feature coffee professionals and passionate people – café owners, roasters, baristas, importers, trainers, etc. – in a written interview series for my weekly newsletter on specialty coffee. 🗞️ The newsletter is called Le Petit Journal du Café – it’s short, insightful, a bit cheeky, and 100% dedicated to the people, places and ideas that make the coffee world so vibrant. 📌 A few details: - The interview is done in writing, with 4 to 5 questions max. - It will be published in French – either you write your answers in French, or I’ll translate them if you prefer answering in English. - I’m mainly looking for people who love what they do and want to share a bit of their journey, vision, and coffee philosophy. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy – or if you know someone who might be up for it – feel free to DM me or comment below. Thanks a lot, and hope to hear from some of you soon! — Cédric / Le Petit Journal du Café

Cafe Raves ?
Have you noticed the growing trend of raves, DJs, and daytime parties taking over cafe spaces? I’ve been seeing more and more of it lately and was wondering if it’s popped up in your area too. It’s an interesting shift, especially considering how diverse the coffee world is, in age, culture, and vibes. The main reason this has sparked interest is because I work for Oatly (an oat milk company), and we’re launching a series of these events here in the U.S. after doing them successfully in Europe. The idea is to explore new spaces outside of traditional coffee moments while still staying rooted in the coffee world, where oat milk naturally lives. These "coffee raves" are kind of a creative bridge between caffeine and community. Personally, I’m into it. I love music and coffee, so it feels like a natural combo. Instead of just sitting and chatting over coffee, these events give people a way to move, dance, and interact with the space differently. It’s cool to walk past a typically quiet cafe and suddenly see it full of life, music, and energy but still in daylight and in a safe setting. I get that it might not be everyone’s scene and could turn some folks away, but I think it reflects how cafes are evolving. Curious if any of you experienced one of these cafe parties or raves in real time ? Whether by accident or on purpose, I’d love to hear what you thought, or just how you feel about this trend in general.

I was sick and stood home on a random school day and my mom was making coffee that for some reason smelt sooo good and she randomly asked me if I wanted some and I was shocked because she had never asked and I had never thought about it before and I said yes and it was a classic Cafe con leche (coffee with milk): Cafe Bustello made on an old automatic coffee maker, evaporated milk and some white sugar. Since then I have been chasing the same high 😂

☁️☕️ Cloud Coffee: The Summer Sensation
Cloud Coffee is the latest social media trend that’s taking the coffee world by storm. This refreshing drink combines espresso, coconut water, and a splash of cream or non-dairy milk, creating a light, tropical beverage perfect for summer. How to Make Cloud Coffee: 1. Fill a glass with ice and pour in 10–12 oz (300–360 ml) of coconut water. 2. In a separate container, combine ½ oz (15 ml) of espresso, 1.5 oz (45 ml) of heavy cream or non-dairy milk, and a sweetener like agave or vanilla syrup to taste. Froth until light and airy (~30–45 seconds). 3. Pour the frothy espresso mixture over the iced coconut water. 4. Stir and enjoy! Not only does it look pretty cool with its cloud-like micro-foam, but the coconut water adds natural electrolytes, making it a hydrating alternative to traditional coffee drinks! Give it a try and share your creations below 👇 And doesn’t forget to tell use what coffee as the espresso you used.

@Jeevan Tripathi bingo !! This is deff it. In today’s world, being a barista is just a job not a career. It’s not looked at as a high skill job and the pay reflects that. People usually do barista work just for money for the time being, it’s not an end goal or something they put actual thought or work into . I don’t blame them, it’s hard to move up in a company or coffee industry as a barista. There’s no blue print and whatever schooling (SCA) there is, you can’t afford on a baristas salary.
