Traceability report
A Contracting Officer reached out to me this asking for a traceability report for a part. I reached out to the distributor of the part and they responded back to me saying they are unable to provide traceability because the manufacturer does not offer documentation on parts. How true is this? Why would a manufacturer not provide traceability?

@Dilshad Randhawa Good question. Were they specifically asking you for full manufacturer traceability, or did they only request a CoC? Sometimes contracting officers accept a CoC, but others require documentation linking back to the original manufacturer.

@Dilshad Randhawa Yes, in many cases it’s safer to skip it, especially if the contract requires traceability. Without proper documentation, you risk rejection or audit issues. It’s usually better to source from a supplier that can provide it. Did the solicitation specifically state traceability as a requirement, or was it requested after submission?

@Atley Settles That’s awesome, congrats on your first award! 🎉 Winning one already after a few months is impressive. Was it through DIBBS or another government contracting platform?

That’s great, congrats again! DIBBS seems like a good place to get started. How has your experience been using it so far?
Does location matter in dibbs contracting?
I want to know if I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere. And assuming I win a contract. Will the government come to my business to inspect goods as per the terms of the contract?

Location: For most government contracts, your physical location usually doesn’t matter as long as you can deliver the goods or services on time. Many small-town businesses successfully win contracts remotely. Some contracts might have local preferences, but many are open nationwide. Inspections: Typically, the government may inspect goods or services depending on the type of contract. Sometimes it’s done on-site, but often it can be through documentation, photos, or third-party verification. It really depends on the specific contract terms. I’m still learning about this too, but this is generally how it works. Hopefully this helps!
He Had No Prior Contracts. Then He Used Contrax AI.
Everyone who wins their first government contract remembers the moment. Not because it was easy — but because for a long time, they weren't sure it was going to happen. That's exactly where Atley was. He and his wife bought another course and didn't get the fulfillment they were looking for. Inevitably, their money went down the drain until they came to found out about what we had to provide for our clients What stands out about Atley's story isn't just that he won. It's how he won — by focusing only on the opportunities that made sense for him, filtering out the noise, and using data to make decisions instead of gut feeling. That's what Contrax AI is built for. Before tools like this existed, figuring out which solicitations were worth pursuing meant hours of manual research — cross-referencing procurement history, guessing competition levels, and pricing bids with incomplete information. Atley didn't have to do any of that. The platform did it for him. If you're still waiting for your first win, the only thing standing between you and your Atley moment is deciding to start using the right tools. Log in to Contrax AI and start finding the right opportunities today. Check out the hyperlink!

That’s an inspiring example. It seems like targeting the right opportunities makes a huge difference. Does the platform mainly analyze DLA contracts, or can it help with opportunities from other government agencies too?
