Turning a deeply physical Aikido-based coaching method into an online product. Is this even possible?
Hey everyone, I need some experienced eyes on a real dilemma. What I actually do:I coach people in a hands-on Aikido-based method that blends mindful movement, non-aggressive self-defense techniques, and simple structured guidance. Clients don’t come for martial arts, they come because this physical approach gives them instant mental quiet, a grounded body, better coordination, and a calm confidence they can use in daily life. The mix of gentle physical pressure, logical explanation, and the balance between humor and seriousness seems to unlock something they can’t get from talking-based coaching. Now I’m trying to translate this into an online format… and honestly, some parts feel impossible. The roadblocks: - No partner contact, so clients can’t physically feel what happens to their balance - No real-time correction on posture, tension, or reactions - Hard to adjust the session instantly when someone's body or mindset shifts - No muscle memory from realistic interaction - The safe, personal dojo atmosphere evaporates online Here’s the real question: Has anyone here successfully turned a deeply physical and relational coaching method into an online product 'without killing its soul'? Not looking for fluffy encouragement. I want the truth: Is this solvable, or am I trying to digitize something that only works live? If you’ve made this transition, or failed at it, I’d really value your lessons, your warnings, and your “I wish someone had told me this earlier” insights. Thanks in advance for the wisdom.

@Kay Z Hi Kay, thank you for taking the time to share this. I really appreciate the perspective, especially given your background in human kinetics and coaching. What you say about practising with another person makes complete sense. The biggest shift in Aikido happens when someone feels how their body responds under gentle pressure. I hadn’t considered inviting people to record a short clip of themselves practising with a partner. It might feel vulnerable at first, but with the right guidance it could become a meaningful feedback loop. I’ll sit with that idea for a moment and see how it could work in a way that still feels safe for people. Your point about visualization is also a good one. In my sessions I already use small moments of mindful imagery to help someone create balance. I never thought of using it more deliberately for motor learning. It could be an interesting bridge between physical practice and the online space. Although I noticed of the years that there are also people who are not able to visualise. If you ever come across an example where someone blended physical practice, partner interaction and guided imagery well, I’d be curious to see it and hear what made it work. Thanks again for your thoughtful response 🙏

@Sammi Johnson True. I can always ask and see and learn from their feedback 👍
If Not Me WHO - If Not Now When.
🌟 Daily Reminder: If Not Me, Who? If Not Now, When? 🌟 “Ask yourself: If not me, who? And if not now, when?” This line is something I just can’t forget. In its simple words, it captures why it’s so crucial to step up and do what needs to be done—and more importantly, to act NOW, not later. Procrastination steals opportunities; action creates them. Let’s make today the day we start! What’s one thing you’ve been putting off that you’re ready to tackle right now? Share in the comments—let’s hold each other accountable and turn those “somedays” into “todays.” 💥

Hi @Aslam Khatri, Thank you for the reminder. It landed gently but clearly. For me it’s the step of shaping my Aikido based 1 on 1 coaching into something that can grow beyond my home dojo. I’ve been circling around the idea for a while, thinking it needed the perfect structure before I could move and are still searching for the right concept, see my post about that, the one that is pinned now. But you’re right. At some point the next step only appears when you walk toward it. That is why I took the action to ask for help within this community, so that I can start mapping out the first version of what an online practice could look like, even if it changes ten times later. Curious what this line opened for others.

About a week ago I launched my first ever ad campaign and was super excited to see results. As the days went on I kept looking at the numbers and learning about all the little details that go into ad sets and ads and all that jazz. However, after 6-7 (😏) days I had a good bit of traffic but still no new members. The old me would have been super discouraged and probably lost motivation. But taking the approach of a scientist/researcher just having fun, I knew I just had to try a new experiment. So, I went back to the drawing board and launched a new campaign with a higher budget. I also spent a few hours trying to figure out how to get ConversionsAPI to connect to Skool so it could track which people join the group. Long story short, I launched the campaign and logged off for the night… only to wake up this morning to 4 new members!! I wanted to share because I just know there are others out there trying to navigate the world of ads and might be feeling discouraged. Something out there will work for you, but you just gotta keep testing and trying until you find it. That seems to be the name of the game in entrepreneurship. Don’t lose heart and just keep swimming 🏊

Five Identity Shifts That Are Helping Me Go From Apprentice to Magician
So many of yoy loved my last post and asked for more so here we go. 1. I stopped consuming more than I was creating This ties back to my last post and it’s so important it needs to be said again. I had to stop consuming everyone else’s strategies, doom-scrolling, saving workshops, freebies, and courses hoping one of them would be the one that magically changed everything. That pattern was psychological — rooted in a deep fear of unworthiness. Learning endlessly was perfectionism dressed up as progress. Doom-scrolling wasn’t relaxing; it was avoiding. Avoiding failure. Avoiding rejection. Avoiding the possibility that I would try, and nothing would happen. So I got honest with myself. I chose one mentor whose work aligned with my values and stuck to that path. I set a boundary: I don’t learn something new until I take an action based on what I just learned. I removed social media apps from my home screen and put time limits on them. It taught my nervous system the difference between unwinding and hiding. 2. I stopped treating my coaching business like a spiritual experiment and started treating it like a business I used to truly believe that if I delivered the right message at the right time with the right vibe, everything would just “take off.” God would move. People would flood in. It would be divine momentum. Spoiler — it wasn’t. Relying on vibes alone didn’t give my audience clear language, clear outcomes, or a clear reason to buy. When I applied Dan’s framework and reworked my offer around tangible results, clear purchase paths, and measurable transformation, everything shifted. I felt confident. I felt legitimate. I stopped feeling like a “spiritual fraud” passively teaching from synchronicity and started teaching from structure. 3. I stopped seeing my audience as viewers and started seeing them as relationships This one is still a muscle I actively practice. I used to chase visibility — go viral, be seen, “build fast.” Now the question is: Am I performing, or am I connecting?
