Discipline
That’s what this picture represents. My Strava shows nearly 2,200 miles run this year and over 200,000 feet of climbing. All of it to prepare for a 100 mile race I’ll be running in less than two weeks. But here’s the reality: I’ve done this while working full-time as a flight nurse and medic, running a business, raising three kids who are in school and sports, and being heavily involved in my church, including playing on the worship band. This isn’t to brag. It’s accountability. It’s proof that discipline works. No, I don’t expect anyone here to run 100 miles or log this kind of training. But I do want you to hear this—there is more than enough time to take care of yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Discipline is the difference-maker. Discipline beats motivation every single time. And it’s something you can build, no matter where you’re starting from. That’s why I’m creating the Discipline Masterclass. It’s coming out in the next month, and I’m giving it away for free. I’m not here to make money—I’m here to help you build the life and health you deserve. So here’s my ask: lean in. Drop a comment below about one area where you want to grow in discipline. And if you’ve got friends or family in healthcare who need this kind of encouragement, invite them to join this community. We’re stronger together. Let’s build a disciplined life that honors our calling. Soaty

Greetings
šŸ‘‹ Hello everyone, I’m excited to be here in The Med-Shred Collective! I joined this community to connect with like-minded people who are passionate about health, performance, and pushing themselves to new levels. I believe that when driven minds come together, we can share ideas, motivate each other, and create real transformation, both in and out of the gym. I’m looking forward to learning, contributing, and growing alongside you all. šŸ’Ŗ Would love to hear from others, what inspired you to join this group?

Day 1 of Week 1 is DONE āœ…
I knocked out my 100 squats in sets throughout my shift—in my flight suit! šŸ’Ŗ Break it up however you need: 10x10, 5x20, or 1 every 5 minutes. Good form, stay under control, chin up, back straight. Let’s get these squats done!

Here it's already Oct 2nd, but yesterday I manage to do 70 squats. I forgot to complete another 30 at home. Will do it completely today! šŸ˜†

ā° Time Management & Discipline for Healthcare Workers
In 17 days, I’ll be lining up for a 100-mile ultramarathon. To prepare, I’ve logged nearly 2,200 miles of running this year—all while lifting, stretching, and recovering. And that’s just one part of my life. I work full-time as a flight nurse/medic. I’m raising 3 busy kids as a single dad. I run a business on the side. I wrote a book this year. And I still make time to serve in my church, playing guitar in the worship band. I don’t say this to brag. I say this because as healthcare professionals, we all know what it feels like to be stretched thin—long shifts, stressful decisions, no one understanding how much we pour out daily. But here’s the truth: don’t tell me there’s no time. You make time for what matters. You choose discipline over excuses. That’s why I’m building a Discipline Masterclass course for this community. Because if we can show up for our patients at 2 a.m. in the ER, on the rig, or in the ICU… we can also show up for ourselves. I hope this motivates you to take a hard look at your schedule and ask yourself: šŸ‘‰ Where can I be more disciplined? šŸ‘‰ What can I cut out so I can show up for what really matters? You have one life, one body, and one chance. Get after it. Prioritize your health and wellness—because your patients, your family, and your future self are counting on it. Brad S. (I hope to have this course completed for you in the next month or two. Til then I pray that this post will light a fire under you! You can do it!!!)

🚨 October Shift Strong Challenge 🚨
Starting Tomorrow, we’re kicking off the Shift Strong Challenge—a month designed to build strength, resilience, and community together. Here’s the lineup: Week 1: Movement (Air Squats) šŸ‘‰ 100 air squats over the course of each shift (break them up however you need). šŸ“ø Post your ā€œsquat pump-upā€ pic for accountability. Week 2: Nutrition (Shift Meals) šŸ‘‰ Prep at least 2 shift-friendly meals using whole foods (no vending machines or gas station runs 🚫).šŸ“ø Share a photo of your meal prep containers. Week 3: Mindset (Gratitude) šŸ‘‰ Write down 3 things you’re grateful for at the start or end of each shift. šŸ“ø Post your gratitude list once this week. Week 4: Recovery (Mobility) šŸ‘‰ Commit to 10 minutes of mobility/stretching after your longest shift. šŸ“ø Share your favorite stretch or quick routine. āœ… How it works: - Each week, complete the challenge task. - Post your accountability in this group (photos, lists, or quick updates). - Every completed challenge = points toward the leaderboard. - Crush all 4 weeks → earn bragging rights + a special community shoutout. This isn’t about being perfect—it’s about showing up, staying consistent, and proving to yourself that even with crazy shifts, you CAN build habits that last. šŸ’„ Who’s in for October? Drop a šŸ”„ ā€œI’m inā€ below and let’s do this together! šŸ‘‰ And don’t keep this to yourself—share this with your friends and colleagues in healthcare. Invite them to join the challenge and build this movement with us. The stronger we are together, the more lives we change.
