Discipline
That’s what this picture represents. My Strava shows nearly 2,200 miles run this year and over 200,000 feet of climbing. All of it to prepare for a 100 mile race I’ll be running in less than two weeks.
But here’s the reality: I’ve done this while working full-time as a flight nurse and medic, running a business, raising three kids who are in school and sports, and being heavily involved in my church, including playing on the worship band.
This isn’t to brag. It’s accountability. It’s proof that discipline works. No, I don’t expect anyone here to run 100 miles or log this kind of training. But I do want you to hear this—there is more than enough time to take care of yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Discipline is the difference-maker. Discipline beats motivation every single time. And it’s something you can build, no matter where you’re starting from.
That’s why I’m creating the Discipline Masterclass. It’s coming out in the next month, and I’m giving it away for free. I’m not here to make money—I’m here to help you build the life and health you deserve.
So here’s my ask: lean in. Drop a comment below about one area where you want to grow in discipline. And if you’ve got friends or family in healthcare who need this kind of encouragement, invite them to join this community.
We’re stronger together. Let’s build a disciplined life that honors our calling.
