Looking Back At My 9-5 Days…
There was a time I thought my 9-5 was all I had. Wake up early, rush to work, come back tired, sleep, repeat. I felt stuck like there was no other way. Then, out of nowhere, a small conversation with someone close to me opened my eyes to something different. At first, I didn’t believe it could fit into my routine. But I decided to try anyway. Those early days weren’t easy at all. I had doubts, made mistakes, but I kept going. Slowly, things started to change. Fast forward to now I earn extra money every week, and the feeling of being able to afford things I once couldn’t… priceless. And I’m still working my 9-5. It’s crazy how one small conversation turned into something that completely shifted my life.
This really resonates with me. It’s amazing how just one conversation or decision can completely shift the direction of your life. Love that you pushed through the doubts and kept going, it’s proof that small steps can create big changes over time. Inspiring! 👏
Nickname? Krug, or Dave
Hey, as the leaderboard shows I'm not completely new here, but the Community Builders introduction template changed and I've been less active on Skool for a while, so I'll reintroduce myself to maybe meet some likeminded collaborators. From? Sweden and I've been here in Sweden over summer, but I'll spend the winter in South Africa and Vietnam hopefully, Da Nang is my preferred winter home. Biggest strength? I don't settle for a 9-5 life in Sweden eating and drinking the average less than ideal things and I don't settle for a life I don't love. Biggest weakness? I don't focus as much as I wish on sales, landing pages, funnels, but I'm working on it. Which content platform is your favourite? Looking at which one I post on and spend time on it's instagram. That said, I just joined a program to start to focus more on linkedin as I it may be better for conversion. In the past YouTube paid me ok. TikTok might have more potential inbsome ways from what I hear, so I might do a round 3 there in some months. What do you want immediate help with inside of this community? Let me think.. Ideally meeting affilliate marketers and sales people who want to market and sell the same things that I market, so we contribute to each others increasing success. So collaboration. Also meeting good people who wants to partner in various projects I'm building. Like a travel/city website network. A clothing brand Online stores Music. Have a good one guys, hit me up if you see potential for some kind of collaboration
Welcome back! Love your drive. Collaboration-minded people like you always bring great energy.
Building a community isn’t about perfect posts, it’s about real connections
I’ve seen so many people fall into the trap of trying to create the perfect post, well-designed graphics, carefully worded announcements, or polished “thought leadership” articles. But the truth is, what drives engagement and growth is genuine connection. One of my most engaged threads started simply with: “What’s your biggest challenge in building a community right now?” No fancy marketing tactics, just a real question. That one post turned into dozens of thoughtful replies and ongoing conversations. At the end of the day, people join communities to be heard, not marketed to. It’s about asking the right questions and showing you care about their experience. What’s the one strategy you’ve found that helps your community grow organically?
Absolutely agree with this. The best growth I’ve seen has come from creating spaces where people feel safe to share, not where they feel like they’re being pitched to. For me, the strategy that works is simple: listen more than I talk. When people realize you genuinely care about their perspective, they naturally want to stay, contribute, and invite others in. Community grows strongest on trust, not tactics.
Mind Blown
On the call yesterday, Ted said go onto the Skool Games Leader boards, he showed us on the call..but now I've been spending time looking at what people are selling, the CRAZY amounts people are making PER MONTH just with Skool alone. And it's made me see the vision...and realise I need to level up my offer. I think if you're stuck with your offer, just go to the leader boards and see what people are paying for. I feel slightly more out of my depth now, but also I'm seeing what's possible, and just how I need to think about my offer.
