SOTD: Ralph's Club New York
Good morning gents! Latest sample gone, Ralph's Club New York. Opening with black currant, mandarin and bergamot, heart is composed by lavender sandalwood (!) and Geranium, and base dries down into Vanilla, Fir and Oak Moss. From the very beginning, I expected not to like this fragrance. I've had some history with black currant not playing well with me. However, I was very pleasantly surprised! No ill effects. It opens up as a very fresh, sweetish fragrance, with the very pleasant slightly fruity freshness. I find it very energizing and uplifting. The aromatics start showing up shortly after, the freshness sitting over a slightly creamy sandalwood and aromatic lavander, with the fragrance turning a bit sweeter, perhaps the vanilla rearing its head as well. At drydown, it remains a very nice, fresh, a tad greenish sweetish fragrance. I particularly get the vanilla, but still feel the freshness from the first phases there. Performance is good. 5-6 hours on me befor eit fully goe sinto the skin with a still nice scent. Conclusion: Do I like it? Unexpectably so, loved it! Did I enjoy the decant? Completely. Full bottle worthy, for me? I don't usually wear fresh-sweet fragrances, so I would rarely reach for this. However, the fragrance is awesome, and do believe it is bottle worthy fo sure!
