Adenomyosis and coeliac disease
Good evening all, Happy Friday! Bit of a weird thing happened today, would be interested to hear your insight please? In the last couple of years I have been diagnosed with coeliac disease and adenomyosis (similar to endometriosis). As a result, I have gained some weight but also suffer with bloating some of the time. A male colleague spoke to me today after his female colleague had asked him if I was pregnant. The way he worded it was quite… blunt, and upsetting but he didn’t mean to cause offence (it really did though!!). Firstly, does anyone else also have adeno? Secondly, what’s everyone’s top tips for not being bloated? I don’t know whether to say something to the female colleague regarding ‘women supporting women’ or explain that my medical conditions cause the bloating. Or even to add that due to the adeno, I may struggle to conceive, so whichever way you look at it, his and her comments were super hurtful. It’s made me cry a couple of times since, and I just feel… glum 😔 Why are people so mean?! Sorry for the long post… xx

So sorry this happened to you. Some people don't think about the impact of what they're saying xx
Living with with family who aren’t GF
Hey, me again😅 Anyone who lives with family who aren’t Coeliac/GF? How do you operate? What is separate? Do you share cutlery? Air fryer if using inserts? How do you go to other families houses/ visit friends and eat where you don’t have your GF sanctuary… pans, utensils, plates, trays etc? Last thing… Anyone with Dermatitis Herpetiformis (DH)?😩

I live with my partner and he's mostly really good, he spoons the butter out of the pack so that he doesn't double dip his gluteny knife and cuts his rolls over the sink. We use all the same utensils but they all go in the dishwasher. We got an airfryer before being diagnosed so I don't want to use it now coz I think it's full of gluten crumbs inside. I'm lucky that my mum is very clued up and I don't have to worry but my partner's parents have made mistakes before e.g. stock cubes and soy sauce, but luckily they realised before I ate anything.
Holiday tips 🏖️
Hi everyone, Does anyone have experience of visiting Sorrento / the Amalfi Coast as a coeliac please? To complicate matters, I’m also vegetarian 😬 Thank you xx

I went in 2022 and it was awesome, Italy is amazing for gluten free. A lot of places have a separate gf menu. Bar Veneruso was lush

Hello, just wanted to ask which lentils are safe to buy for coeliacs? :) I bought Natco red lentils, and didn’t say they were may contain or unsafe for coeliacs, I assume if I give them a rinse should be ok?

I use the Natco ones as they don't have a may contain like the tesco ones do
Celiac issues
Any recommendations for how to deal with a situation like this? I have an acquaintance that says her sister has non- diagnosed celiac and works at non-gluten free bakery and can eat minimal gluten a day. And wonders why I cant do the same? She says they wont do the testing saying the doctors will kill her sister and its fake anyways and that I shouldn't believe my doctors. She keeps on sending me small bread and cookies from the bakery claiming its only a little gluten products. And I try to be nice to her but its a struggle. Any tips on how to handle this without being rude? I been diagnosed with celiac since I was 8 and has been tested both in the United States and France.

Can you give her some factual information about CD from legitimate websites that explain you can't even have a crumb. You could say that you'd like to follow this advice to keep yourself safe/to be completely sure you're not making yourself ill. You could say something like you appreciate the gifts and it's really kind of her to send them but you can't eat them

@Julia Nicolle It sounds like you've really tried to explain it to them so I agree with Kiesa below about not giving them anymore of your energy. It must be so hard that they're so adamant they're right
