Day 11: Centered Strength | October Challenge
Today’s session focuses on building core stability, the foundation for good posture, balance, and confident movement. When your center is strong, every movement becomes more powerful and controlled. Move slowly, stay grounded, and feel your strength from within.

Still too sick to workout, but I still wanted to check in with this great group. Can't wait to be fully recovered and back to daily sessions.
Day 9: Expanding Energy | October Challenge
Today’s session is about lifting your energy from the inside out. With a positive attitude and light, intentional movement, we expand our energy and elevate our mood. Even a few minutes of focused movement can open the body, clear the mind, and raise your vibration for the day ahead.

@Joann Dumanoir Thank you.
Day 8: Move Without Fear | October Challenge
Today’s session is about freedom, moving your body anywhere, without worrying about who’s watching. Let go of judgment and move with confidence and curiosity. Move boldly. Move freely. Move without fear.

Walking meditation is an excellent mindfulness practice, very like the moving meditation you introduced at the end of today's class. I think practicing mindfulness whether in stillness or in motion is beneficial and gaining facility with both is important. By the way, that squat, rise onto the ball of the foot motion becomes plié relevé with a simple adjustment in form. (I'm always reminded of the ballet equivalents of these movements.)

@Drew Hopper It does, though I also spent some years belly dancing too, when my knees balked too much at ballet.
Some words on “Balance"
“Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm, and harmony.” — Thomas Merton The word balance is both a noun and a verb— something we have, and something we do. Life itself is a balancing act, right? Everything is in motion. When the world around us feels off-kilter, we do too. Balance isn’t about perfection— it’s about adjusting, over and over, even learning to find steadiness in the imbalance. High-wire artists don’t look down or ahead— they move one step at a time. Progress, not perfection, keeps them upright. A pendulum swings from one extreme to another, but always returns to center. A musician tunes between sharp and flat until harmony emerges. In Taoist philosophy, yin and yang — the dance of opposites— create wholeness and balance. Balance is harmony in motion. It’s not a thing you get; it’s something you practice. For me Everyday Energy movements with you and Drew continue to lift my spirits and keep me balanced. Joy, pride, and creativity nourish the soul— and when you care for yourself first, everyone around you benefits. Meet your needs before your wants.
Wonderful insights here, Denny. How very much I love Thomas Merton.
@Drew Hopper All of his books are excellent. Zen and the Birds of Appetite might be a good one to begin with.
Day 4: Childlike Energy | October Challenge
Today is all about childlike qualities, moving with imagination, wonder, and awe. We skip, hop, and play as children do, reminding ourselves why movement is so joyful and energising. After your session, share one way you brought a sense of play into your movement today.
@Drew Hopper As a former dancer, I love to workout. I have to be careful because ballet did a job on my knees and feet, but I love to move.

@Drew Hopper Aging ballerinas have many of the same injuries as aging football players. Ballet is some serious stuff. Jealous you got to attend a live performance in Vienna. How lovely.
