Light Blue Pour Homme Summer Vibes by Dolce & Gabbana
Bold statement. Maybe it’s the simplicity. So far my favorite Light Blue (without trying Light Blue pour Homme Forever or Italian Love). Three notes, Sicilian lemon 🍋, cypress, amber wood. Summer fragrance perfect for high heat and sweating. Bottle cap is meh but I love the actual bottle, heavy with beautiful design with classic shape. For a freshie you’re getting good longevity and projection. Easy sillage.

Vintage Radio…A New Classic
This was a blind buy after seeing it recommended in an earlier RMRS post, and I’m glad I took the chance because it exceeded my expectations. Vintage Radio opens with a rich, slightly fruity sweetness before settling into a beautifully smooth heart of lavender and woods, while the creamy palo santo, sandalwood, amber, and subtle vanilla in the dry down give it a warm, sophisticated character that feels both modern and comforting. Performance has been excellent on my skin, consistently giving me 8–10 hours of longevity with a solid scent bubble for the first couple of hours before settling into an inviting personal scent. The sillage is noticeable without being overpowering, earning several compliments while remaining refined enough for the office, dinner, or an evening out. This has quickly become one of my favorite fragrances, and it’s one I’ll happily keep in regular rotation throughout the fall, winter, and cooler spring days.

I just hate the presentation. The juice is on steroids and I feel like the bottle is macaroni art.

@Darren Poesel It just performs well and smells great. Projection and longevity are almost beast mode (beast mode fills up a room and is longer than 8 hours).
Smell isn't the only sense we use with fragrances.
I just read the post by @Jon Jacobs about caps and atomizers and it got me thinking. If you think about it, even in a hobby where the sense of smell is primary, our other senses come into play also. We use sight (looking at the box and bottle) and touch (holding the bottle, pulling off the cap and spraying) before we even use our sense of smell which does affect our perception of the fragrance as a whole. Consciously or unconsciously, presentation is a factor in the way we judge something and the presentation is usually the first thing that is noticed, even before the first sniff.

Thank you 🙏 for the mention. I haven’t bought any niche fragrances (except mancera) but I really enjoyed opening my middle eastern dupes. Their presentation is just on another level and I think it’s funny a 30$ dupe is more fun to unbox than my Sauvage Elixir was.

Match #1
If you missed my post yesterday, I am starting my 40-fragrance, double-elimination tournament today. Match #1 pits the 32nd seed (Burberry Hero Parfum) against the 33rd seed (Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Parfum). Both are excellent fragrances, but after wearing them side by side all day, I found myself reaching for my wrist with Hero more often. Burberry Hero Parfum (2024, created by Aurélien Guichard) is warm, woody, and smooth, with cedarwood, amyris, cypriol, and a touch of incense. It has a richness that feels modern and comforting without becoming heavy. Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Parfum (2023) is crisp, elegant, and beautifully put together. The vetiver is clean and refined, making it an outstanding choice for the office or any situation where understated sophistication is the goal. In the end, though, Hero simply kept my attention more. It has a warmth and depth that I found more enjoyable throughout the day, while Grey Vetiver stayed impeccably classy but a little more reserved. Both deserve a place in a collection, but today Burberry Hero Parfum moves on to the next round in the Winner's Bracket and Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Parfum drops into the Loser's Bracket. See you tomorrow for Match #2.

New to understanding scents. I have about 85 scents (2/3 dupes) and about 25 decants. I want to learn as much as I can.
