SOTD- Monday March 30th: YSL Y Iced Cologne
It’s starting to heat up this week, so time to bring out some warm weather bangers. I swear I enjoy this more and more I wear it!

@Mike Penzenik the entire Y line is above average, even the fresher flankers. I think they are fully synthetic, but the quality is great, and they don't smell cheap at all

@Mike Penzenik The synthetic vs. natural debate is complex. Many high-end perfumes use synthetics primarily for performance and consistency. Natural citrus, for instance, is often too volatile and weak to last, which is why even popular scents like Dior Homme Cologne rely on synthetics to maintain their profile. However, when it comes to depth and character, high-quality natural oils like Agarwood (Oud), Rose Absolute, or Orris Butter (Iris) are where the real difference is felt.
Mancera Intense French Riviera - Fragflex, $118
Good day gents! Noticed this one finally in stock in the US. Haven't seen it anywhere else. Price seems allright for a newly available Mancera, and there's plenty of codes out there for Fragflex... I think GentScents just added one. This one really calls to me. But so did the OG, which I really liked, but decided was not for me. Will need to sample first. I'm guessing it won't be long until it's available for decants at perfuum. https://fragflex.com/products/mancerafrenchrivieraintense-man?variant=45508178116665

I was frustrated with the OG. I watched a lot of videos, but when I tried it in person, it was too floral for me, almost feminine. How does this one compare?

@Edgar Mertins the Cinque Terre is better, it’s like a niche version from the Invictus Parfum and less soapy
Seeking Advice: To Buy or Not to Buy?
Hi friends, I’m a collector with over 180 bottles, and lately, my Taurus indecisiveness is making it hard to choose new additions. I want to avoid "dumb purchases" and keep my collection focused on quality brands like Guerlain, Issey Miyake, Hugo Boss, Mancera, and Nishane. I’m currently looking at some fragrances that are heavily discounted, but they feel a bit "generic" or "meh" to me. Examples include: - Azzaro The Most Wanted Intense EDT ($40 tester) I'm afraid to be another Ralphs Club EDP - generic and boring. - Azzaro Wanted Tonic ($30 tester) It could be a generic gym scent. I love lime, but I already have some good lime scents. - D&G The One Gold ($40 tester) To be honest, I tried it twice, and it smells like calone to me, and on my skin, it pops a little. I love the line and already have the EDP and EDP Intense. - Coach for Men EDT ($35 tester) I already have the Green and love. I am afraid to be another Sauvage clone to be forgettable in my wardrobe. - Versace Eros Flame ($45 tester) I have the Eros EDP, and it was my first tester, the start of the addiction lol. But now, I find the EDP too juvenile, and that’s why it might be nice to have one that feels slightly more mature. My Question: Do you think these "average" scents will ever become hyped classics, or will they just disappear from the market without anyone missing them?

@Edgar Mertins Yeah, I'm in the same boat. TMW Intense and Eros Flame are both good choices, but not spectacular. The rest is the rest, maybe only to make number, and it is exactly what I am avoiding.

@Paul Bartnicki I get that. Do you feel like those specific flankers are the generic ones, or do you think those entire lines aren't worth the investment in general?
D&G The One EDP 2025 - Jomashop, $74.99 150ml
Good morning gents, another one that caught my attention. Very much so. Great price for a 150ml bottle! Just a single, one day before JS listed this, I bought a 100ml bottle locally... of course. After import costs, this 150ml bottle would've cost me roughly $50 LESS than what I payed for my 100ml bottle. So seems life is balancing my luck of finding that Boss Bottled Pacific with this 😅 https://www.jomashop.com/dolce-and-gabbana-mens-the-one-edp-spray-5-0-oz-fragrances-8056669925866.html

Don't you think that the old EDP for $50 is almost the same than this one? I will sample the Parfum version and, if worth, I will wait for a discounter price.

@Edgar Mertins Good to know, I will try to sample it.
SOTD: New Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue EDP
Wore this new one yesterday. This one is really good. The opening has a rindy bite with a sugary sweetness, that stays throughout. I get citrus peel, cypress and Amberwood. Work safe/ spring and Summer/ Casual or formal/ daytime or evening. Longevity is about 6 hours with ok projection. I do get better projection with the original EDT. The EDP seems to sits closer to the skin for me. Presentation is very nice. I like the clear bottle and gold accents with a blue cap that snaps into place. The atomizer I think is an improvement from the OG. This fits right in as a flanker in this line. This will be in the summer rotation for sure.

I hope it is a more intense version of the EDT, with the same DNA and only with the improved performance. I already have the Intense EDP and is too salty for my nose, I prefer the juicy citrus from the EDT but the performance is terrible.
