As a Freight Agent I have found it to be particularly interesting looking for a broker home. I have encountered the following: Some brokers have no interest in hiring agents which nothing is wrong with it, its just a problem for me an agent. Some brokers are only looking for sales agents. I am not interested in being a sales agent. I want to handle operations and scale my business within yours. Although it is understood double brokering is a big issue in the community, I feel as though my judgement should be trusted considering my client is on the line as well. We can also come to an agreement that carriers will undergo approvement from management. But I will be handling operations. Some brokers are doing poor business. I am not the best agent but I do know when I am being taken advantage of. One broker refused to give contingent cargo insurance and my customer refused to work without it. Rather than provide they wanted me to part ways after I had already reached out to my customer. I am looking for a legitimate broker that does great business and is looking for someone that is dedicated to doing good business. I just thought maybe I should share my battle here...any thoughts or suggestions? 😅
