Hey guys new here.
Hi everyone iv just joined and having a look at what it’s all about. I’m here to get myself back on track. The last few years I’ve slowing started to lose myself. Not been going to the gym not as motivated at work. (I’m an Electrician) So just looking to get my shit together. I’m new to all this and not one to put myself out there like this. But I’m excited to get involved. Thanks

not going to the gym, not as motivated at work. these are sign that there's an inner conflict inside you. did something happened personally that triggered you to lose yourself? like any relationship issues, loss of someone you care about, burnout or maybe boredom with your current work? that can give us hint as to why you can't push yourself and get back on track. simply pushing yourself to do something is not always a sustainable strategy until you understand the real problem.

@Harold Warren sometimes we lack drive because we carry so much unproccesed emotional baggage for so long that's why we feel like it's so hard to get back on track. just writing down what you're going thru here is actually a form of release. I acknowledge you for being honest about it. that took so much courage to admit. Now think of yourself like a car. You’ve been driving the same road for 20 years, then suddenly your tires went flat. Of course you’d feel miserable and have no energy to keep going. like where am I going next? I'm good here. so forcing yourself to just be disciplined doesn't work. What you need is a clear vision where you're heading. something you're excited about. you need to dream again. When your goal lights you up, discipline stops feeling like a chore and fitness becomes a vehicle to get you there. let me know what comes up to you.
Bad salespeople try to avoid objections.
Bad salespeople try to avoid objections. The best salespeople? They listen for uncertainty. Because here’s the truth: If your prospect doesn’t feel the consequence of staying the same, they won’t move. When you hear: ❌ “I don’t have the money.” ❌ “I need to think this over.” ❌ “Maybe next year.” What they’re really saying is: 👉 “I’m not convinced this will help me.” These aren’t ‘objections.’ They’re signals. Cues that it’s time to shift frames, ask better questions, and help them see what happens if nothing changes. When you stop fighting objections… And start dissolving uncertainty… You win bigger, faster, cleaner.

"bad" sounds like they are intentionally doing harm on others. I believe some people are just unaware or not skilled enough. calling them like this is shaming them to change. not sure if that kind of leadership is empowering people to improve for the better.
Take the Risk
One who watches the wind will not sow and one who looks at the clouds will not harvest. Ecclesiastes 11:4 This was an excerpt from my daily devotion today. It really spoke to me. This scripture can be applied in many ways. Certainly you can connect it to being a witness for God, and not being afraid to share your faith. In the Bible we read story after story of imperfect humans pursuing mission-possible lives, and in there is common thread: risk taking. It’s clear this also correlates also to daily life. Those that procrastinate, don’t make decisions, and continuously sit on the sidelines just don’t win. Let’s risk what we have for the sake of helping other people and seeing what God can do in our lives and in the lives of others.

Finding Clarity As A Leader
I am a leader at work (actual director/manager) and working on being a better leader to myself and my family. Part of my issue is that I have all these “things that need to be done or I’m being asked to do” in my mind or on paper, but I have a hard time knowing what to prioritize and finding clarity around big rocks. I often find myself doing some productive procrastination just to be busy, but I’m not always effective. What recommendations does this group have to help me find clarity and move to needle for myself, my team, and my family on a daily basis? Thanks in advance! 👊🏼

Try to list down all the activities you need to do then categorize them by hierarchy of importance and urgency. Eisenhower matrix can help you with this. Then schedule them in your calendar based on what's your time and energy availability. Allot specific time of the week or a month to accomplish those which are not urgent and important. Over time, these small things pile up. Let me know any insights that come up.

@Woody Crenshaw if you feel like everything has same level of importance, you might need to add another filter. is this my priority at the moment? for sure out of 5 tasks with same level of importance, 2 of them are the most important. Then for the remaining tasks, ask yourself how long can i delay this? do I really have enough time and energy to do them this week/this month or it's best to delegate them? If you can't really accommodate more tasks, another issue I see here is to communicate your capacity to the people asking for your support. not sure how good you are in communicating that but this could be another area to explore. do you feel guilty saying no or there's really no one to do the work? if that's the case, delegating tasks to others is a better solution here. all these are leadership skills that can be further improved.
