Going Silent!! 😁
I’ll be inactive for the next week, heading out on a cruise to Mexico, Belize, and Honduras 🌊🚢 Taking some time to relax, explore, and enjoy the moment. I’ll be back soon with plenty of stories and pictures! See y’all when I’m back āœŒļø Gonna miss you guys and all the interactions! I’m sure I will have a ton of notifications when I return with no hope of getting through them all. Please forgive me in advance for not replying to comments. I’ll let you guys know what fragrance treasures I find 😁

My Montagne Collection
- Image — Amouage Reflection Man. Very solid take on Reflection Man. It captures the clean, floral, classy masculine DNA, but the original feels smoother, brighter, and more refined. - Image 45 — Amouage Reflection Man 45One of the better Montagnes. It gives the richer, creamier Reflection 45 feel, but the original has more depth, polish, and luxury. - Empyr Cologne — Bvlgari Le Gemme Empyr gets the smoky, woody, spicy idea across well. The original probably feels denser, more expensive, and more complex. - Azonto — Byredo Bal d’Afrique. Good for the general citrus-floral-woody vibe. The original feels airier, smoother, and more elegant, but Azonto gives the same style for less. - Pineapple Absolu — Creed Aventus Absolu captures the darker pineapple Aventus-style profile. The original has better blending and a more natural expensive feel, but this scratches the itch. - Irish Verbena — Creed Green Irish Tweed. Very wearable green, clean, classic masculine scent. The original feels more natural and refined, but this gives the same gentlemanly direction. - Buko Intense — Creed Virgin Island Water. Good tropical lime-coconut vibe. The original is smoother and more relaxed, but Buko Intense is a strong casual summer alternative. - Bleu Talisman — Ex Nihilo Blue Talisman. Really good modern fruity-fresh profile. The original feels more polished and airy, but Montagne gets the easy, clean, sweet-fresh vibe right. - Hudson County — Gissah Hudson Valley gives a fresh, clean, modern direction. The original may feel richer and more finished, but this should work well as an easy daily wear. - Pacific Moss — Goldfield & Banks Pacific Rock Moss. Nice fresh aquatic-mossy style. The original feels more natural and coastal, but Montagne gives you the casual warm-weather vibe. - Herbs Garden — Guerlain Herbes Troublantes. Gets the herbal fresh, aromatic idea. The Guerlain will feel more delicate and refined, but this works if you want that fresh green-herbal feel. - Eden — Initio Rehab: Very good cozy aromatic lavender/spice/wood scent. The original is smoother, creamier, and more luxurious, but Eden gives the Rehab mood very well. - Another 14 — Le Labo Another 13Good clean musky skin-scent style. The original feels more transparent and mysterious, but this gives the same minimal, clean aura. - Eau Gaiac — Le Labo Gaiac 10Nice soft smoky wood profile. The original is quieter, smoother, and more elegant, but this captures the meditative woody vibe. - Eau Rose — Le Labo Rose 31Gives the spicy woody rose idea. The original feels more textured and natural, but this is a good way to wear that rose-wood DNA. - Eau Matcha — Le Labo ThĆ© Matcha 26Good tea/fig/woody relaxed scent. It captures the tea-citrus clean luxury vibe, but the original has more lift, sparkle, and refinement. - Imaginary Intense — Louis Vuitton Imagination: A stronger, fuller take on that same DNA. Not exactly the same as the original, but very useful if you want more punch and body. - Meteorite — Louis Vuitton MĆ©tĆ©oreGood clean citrus-spicy fresh scent. Wow, thanks for the comprehensive listings! I’m definitely tempted to try a few from this house. Although, reading your commentary, I do see quite often things like ā€œthe original is smoother/ deeper/ more polished /etc, butā€¦ā€ which kind of gives me pause.

Frag haul!
So I’m back from a trip to the UK and came home with a bunch of goodies I picked up while there. And I had a few more waiting for me in the mail when I got home - Bought a whole bunch of ATH to try out. I figure I’ll be able to tell with just a few sprays if they are for me or not, and if not I’ll just flip them. So far I’m enjoying Guapo and Gin Sling; Odyssey isn’t bad (seems like a take on Tygar) and Icon is pretty good too (kind of a sweet salty citrus woody aromatic) but maybe a bit sweet for my taste. Yet to try are Midnight Fever, Blue Fever, and Noir. - As @Paul Bartnicki knows (and, I suspect, is amused by), I have significant trouble with clary sage and I sold my bottles of ATH Hombre when I first blind bought them because I didn’t like how that note was front and center. However, Penhaligons The Cut has been growing on me, and it also has prominent clary sage, so I wanted to give Hombre another shot - Also picked up the limited release Guerlain L’Homme Ideal Cologne Forte at a steal of a price. I had tried a decant and really liked it. The almond gave me trouble in some of the others from the Ideal line but here it’s light and smooth - I spent time at the Roja and Ormonde Jayne boutiques in London, both had cool and knowledgeable staff who took me through a bunch of their lines. Roja Midsummer Dream and Isola Snow were standouts, and I’ve already got decants of those on the way; I liked Evernia and Kashmir on paper and the manager at the OJ boutique gave me samples to try - Waiting for me at home were bottles of Polo 67 EDP and Superz Unique Blue — both of which I burned through decants of and beat out all the others I battled them against

Due to my monthly medical expenses, I’ve not been replenishing some of my luxury fragrances so I decided to dip into the dupe pool. I was looking at a replacement for MDK Baccarat Rouge 540(although I’m not totally out of it), so I decided to try Le Bonbon from Montagne. I haven’t bought anything from this House but this fragrance had the exactly the same composition of jasmine, saffron, cedar wood and ambergris, so I bought it. Fragrance arrived today and comparing the two on my wrists, I am very pleased with the results. Any other thoughts on Montagne from the Brotherhood?
