thai boxing would be my choice if the jiujitsu school taught good clinching and upper body takedowns like Relson and Rickson teach. how to enter and clinch from striking not sport. If not you need the judo or wrestling to get it to the ground. thai boxing is well rounded in all the striking ranges.
Weapons
A lone figure in all black with a hood approaches you in a dark alley. He stops 5 feet in front of you. You are unarmed and cornered. Which of these weapons feels the least dangerous to you? Against which weapons would you rather defend yourself.

if I have to engage it would be the greased bat and pepper spray. really hard to use both at the same time and once I clinch the bat isnt very effective and the pepper spray will affect both of us. If trained properly the bat is easiest to enter in on. Still a very bad situation.

true but i have been through training with pepper spray and in actual confrontations so i know i can deal with the pepper spray. sucks but doable
Focus for the week (hidden weapon)
This week in training, imagine your partners might try to access a weapon and pay attention to their hands at all times. Roll like normal but keep your attention partially on imagining what would you do if they started to try to pull a knife from a pocket or reach for a glass bottle nearby. You don’t always have to physically train these pieces, sometimes it enough to build awareness. If you have the tools, tell your partners to surprise you with a hidden training weapon sometime this week. Don’t panic. 😱

we add weapons all the time. sometimes when they are rolling i throw in a training knife part way through to add some realism.

Happy New Year 🎆
Hey everyone, Thank you so much for being a part of this community. I am honored by your engagement and support. I started this group so that I could share what I’ve learned with people who don't have the proximity to the source that I’ve been so fortunate to have. I am truly blessed to be guided by Master Rickson on a daily basis. I trust that you have gotten something out of this trial period. I want everyone to have a place where they can feel supported by their peers and find the guidance they’re looking for. Many of you have asked for clear training paths, structure, and access to me so I am building it. More details to come.
