Cold blooded!! ๐Ÿ”ฅ
Tighter turn and heโ€™s safe? ๐Ÿค”
I can hear all of my old base running coaches yelling that he would be safe ๐Ÿ˜† What are yโ€™allโ€™s thoughts?

His wide turn and the look back were the only standouts to me that led to him being thrown out. He touched the inside corner of the bag with his right foot which is MONEY!!

Curtis Washington Jr.
Whatโ€™s up everybody! I am Curtis Washington Jr, born and raised in West Memphis, Arkansas. I was drafted out of Purdue University in the 19th round in 2022 by the Seattle Mariners, and just finished up my 2nd professional season playing for our Low-A affiliate team, the Modesto Nuts. I am excited to be a part of this community, watch it grow, give back knowledge for the game that has helped myself become a better player, and help players reach the next level ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ
Top Down vs Ground Up
Would love everyone's feedback on this. Do you think top down or do you focus on working from the ground up? I think my background of playing tennis allows top down to feel so much better for me but curious what has worked best for y'all. Pitchers- have y'all thought about focusing on the top down and allowing your lower half to do what it wants? Those has helped me, and my players, tap into more natural moves.

Me personally, Iโ€™ve always been a very, โ€œhandsyโ€ guy when it comes to hitting. Meaning my hands are naturally quick through the zone and to the ball, and my lower half is out of control in game simply because the game speeds us up and we do everything we can to be successful that day. Most of the time this got me in trouble as a hitter and would lead me to consistently roll over or be out in front on breaking balls even when I feel on time for every pitch. So for myself and any hitter who lets their quick hands get in the way of staying through the baseball, thinking from the ground up is helping me become a complete hitter overall.

I have never tried thinking top down, but while hitting in the cages I will give it a try & see the feedback what thinking top down does to us.
