🇺🇸 English Expressions: One Tough Cookie 🍪💪
Hey everyone! 👋 Today’s expression is “one tough cookie.” 👉 It means a person who is strong, resilient, and able to handle difficult situations. You use it to describe someone who doesn’t give up easily. Origin: This phrase comes from American slang in the 20th century. “Cookie” was a playful term for a person, and “tough” highlights their strength or resilience. Together, it paints a picture of someone who’s hard to break. 💥 Examples: • Despite all the challenges, she’s one tough cookie. 😎 • That coach is one tough cookie — no one can beat him! • He recovered from the accident quickly; he’s really one tough cookie. 💪 Now it’s your turn! 💬 Drop your own sentence using “one tough cookie” below 👇 WE LEARN FROM EACH OTHER! 🤝

@Jiyeon Song What do you know 'chaotic'? This is supposed to be a joyful occasion, why are you crying? Get out of my house, you're just squeezed to this family.

Suggestions?
After testing the waters with the Tongue-Twister Challenge, and seeing how successful it was, we’ll be continuing the series. Since it’s something that sometimes requires a few tries to get it right, I wanted to check with you all how often we should do this series. My suggestion would be twice a week. For example, every Monday and Thursday. What do you think?

🇺🇸 English Expressions: Too Many Irons in the Fire 🔥
Hey everyone! 👋 Today’s expression is “too many irons in the fire.” 👉 It means having too many tasks or projects going on at the same time, which can make it hard to do any of them well. Basically, you’re spreading yourself too thin. Origin: This phrase comes from blacksmithing. When a blacksmith has multiple irons in the fire, each needs attention — if there are too many, some might get ruined. Over time, it became a metaphor for taking on more than one can handle. 🛠️ Examples: • He’s juggling three jobs and a side business — definitely too many irons in the fire. 😅 • Don’t take on another project; you’ve already got too many irons in the fire. 🔥 • She tried to learn piano, guitar, and drums at once — that’s too many irons in the fire. 🎵 Now it’s your turn! 💬 Drop your own sentence using “too many irons in the fire” below 👇 WE LEARN FROM EACH OTHER! 🤝
