Still learning ☺️
I’m trying to train my nose beyond ‘this smells good.’ What helped you most early on comparisons, note breakdowns, or just wearing fragrances over time?

@Paul Bartnicki Totally get that. The “buy once, cry once” approach makes a lot of sense, especially with niche quality and performance. I’m beginning to lean that way myself while still appreciating a few good designers. Appreciate the advice!

@Robert Sheard Lol, that would be great 😊, but too bad I get irritated by that.
A Quick Intro About Me
Hi everyone! I’ve really enjoyed being part of this community and learning from all the knowledge shared here. Aside from being a fragrance enthusiast, I also work in web design and help small businesses and creatives set up clean, professional websites to showcase their products. Seeing so many independent brands, collectors, and fragrance entrepreneurs here made me realize how important a good online presence is for this industry. Whether it’s organizing a collection, displaying decants, or presenting a full fragrance line, a simple, well-structured website can make a huge difference. I’m not posting this as a sales pitch at all, just sharing what I do outside of fragrances in case anyone ever needs guidance or has questions about getting started online. I’m always happy to help or point people in the right direction. Love being part of this space and learning from you all!

@Henry Clay Thank you! Happy to be here 😊
Should I Buy or Not To Buy That is the question?
Quick Question, looking for other daily type fragrances that I enjoy to expand my collection I am running out to the store, so as you know, I have LV Imagination. I really dont need any of the darl LV as I have Ombre Nomad and La Sables Roses and the clones of these. I have Jean Lowe l'immensite the clone. Do you think it is worth the added bottle of the LV l'immensite? Can Imagination coexist together ot are they redundant ?

I hope this helps…. and someone with more experience can correct me if I’m off. 😊 From what you’ve described, LV Imagination and LV L’Immense sit in pretty different spaces. Imagination is bright and citrus-forward with a more refreshing daytime vibe, while L’Immense tends to be calmer, smoother, and more marine/tea-like, so they can absolutely coexist without feeling redundant in a collection. If you’re looking for other daily-wear fragrances, you might consider scents that are clean and easygoing, citrus, light woods, soft aquatic/tea vibes. Both can be daily choices, but having something a bit different in character, like a fresher citrus vs a softer tea/marine, gives you options depending on mood and weather.

@Lon Chaneyfield 914 fragrances, that’s amazing! I can see why you’re picky now. At that level it’s more about curating than just adding bottles, and I totally get not wanting a lone bottle from a brand. Quality over quantity at this point!
#HealthVision
Where I want to be in my career or business in three years In three years, I want to be established in a role where I am trusted for my judgment, experience, and ability to solve difficult problems. I see myself in a leadership or senior advisory position where I am actively guiding projects, mentoring others, and helping organizations make sound, ethical decisions. I want to be known for delivering results while doing things the right way—no shortcuts, no excuses. By that point, I want to be able to point to measurable achievements: successful projects completed, systems improved, and people who are better off because of my involvement. I want my work environment to value accountability, professionalism, and collaboration. Most importantly, I want to be part of a culture where people keep their word, respect one another, and take pride in doing meaningful work that makes a real impact. Steps I need to take to reach my three-year career vision To reach that vision, I need to be intentional and disciplined with my next steps. This includes keeping my resume and professional profile current so they accurately reflect my experience, accomplishments, and leadership capabilities. I need to continue strengthening my skills—especially in strategic planning, communication, and problem-solving—so I remain effective in increasingly complex situations. I also need to expand my professional network by building and maintaining relationships based on trust and mutual respect, not just convenience. Seeking out opportunities that challenge me, even when they are uncomfortable, will be important for growth. Finally, I must remain consistent in how I show up every day—prepared, reliable, and willing to take responsibility for outcomes. What’s holding me back from advancing in my career or business The biggest obstacles are not external—they are internal. At times, I can rely too heavily on past experience instead of actively pushing myself toward the next level. Balancing competing responsibilities can also slow momentum if I’m not careful with time management and prioritization.

This is a very grounded and intentional vision. I really respect the emphasis on trust, ethics, and measurable impact, those are the things that tend to last. I also appreciate the honesty about internal obstacles; that self-awareness is usually what separates people who plateau from those who keep growing. Staying disciplined while intentionally stepping into discomfort feels like the real work over the next few years. Wishing you consistency and the right opportunities to match this clarity.
ATH Homme vs Prada L'homme Intense
I did a comparison between these two, and discovered that both are amazing scents that are similar, but go in different directions. With Aaron discontinuing Homme, I might want to snag another 10ml before they're gone! Prada has a sweet, fresh, iris open. Light woods & tonka soon join. Sweetness fades in and out after an hour, joined by a slight leather note. Fragrance remains stable as a soft, powdery, iris, woody blend with touch of leather and not too sweet. It also maintains an airy, freshness throughout. Moderate sillage for an hour, steady mild sillage after that up to 7+hrs. Very nice, understated, elegant and romantic. ATH Homme is obviously iris forward, medium toned, with powder, ambery wood and sweetness. A very well done, warm iris fragrance. Elegant or casual. Moderate proj & sillage for 2 hrs, then mild to 6+ hrs. Both fragrances open and drydown beautifully, smell luxurious, are expertly designed, and have excellent projection and longevity. Prada is more fresh to my nose, and fits a little more of an elegant, professional setting, but I could see it in casual, social settings also. ATH is warmer, sweeter and woodier, and it hits the comfort button for me. Beautiful and soothing. I'll eventually compare these to the new Dior Homme Intense, but in the mean-time, if you're an iris fan, owning both of these is not redundant at all, and I recommend it!

Great comparison, really well articulated. I agree they share an iris DNA but head in clearly different directions. Prada L’Homme Intense leans fresher, airier, and more polished to my nose, while ATH Homme feels warmer, sweeter, and more comforting. With Homme being discontinued, grabbing another 10ml sounds like a smart move. Definitely not redundant owning both if you’re an iris fan, each scratches a different itch. Looking forward to your take once you compare them to Dior Homme Intense…
