10 contributions to Med-Shred
On Shift, On Mission
This is my full-time gig — it’s how I provide for my family, and I truly love what I do. For almost 10 years, I’ve been a flight nurse and paramedic, and for over 15 years I’ve been in healthcare — on ground ambulances, in ERs, in transport, and as a volunteer firefighter. I’m also a father of three, an ultra runner, the CEO & founder of Med-Shred, and someone who finds peace playing guitar in our church worship band. But I need you to know something important: My life wasn’t always like this. I was burned out. Overweight. Unhealthy. Depressed. Anxious. Broke. Miserable. Through the grace of God, my faith, and a lot of discipline, I began making small changes — one at a time. Those small wins stacked up into big victories, and over time I turned my life 180 degrees around. That’s why we started Med-Shred. Not because life is easy, not because we’re perfect, but because we care about you — my peers: nurses, medics, doctors, first responders, respiratory therapists, and all healthcare workers. You are my people, and I want you to live a healthy, fulfilling, burnout-free life. No, Med-Shred isn’t perfect yet. But what we’re building here on Skool and in our app is something special — something I believe God put me on this earth to do. I believe this community can spark a movement in our industry — one where we stop accepting burnout as “normal” and start choosing health, fulfillment, and purpose. This is just the beginning. And I’m honored to walk (and run) this journey with you. Post a comment on what you do for your full time gig? Coach Soat www.Med-Shred.com

0.0004%. That’s the percentage of people in the world who have ever finished a 100-mile race. I’ve done one. I’ve also run marathons, 50Ks, 50-milers, and a 100K. But here’s the truth—it doesn’t make me special. What separates me isn’t talent or luck—it’s this: I don’t quit. One foot in front of the other, no matter how painful or exhausting it gets. That mindset has carried me far beyond running—it’s shaped how I approach my career, my family, my health, and my life. And I’ll be the first to tell you—I don’t do it alone. My strength comes from Jesus Christ. He’s the reason I have the endurance to keep pressing forward when everything inside me says stop. I also want to touch on something we don’t talk about enough: men’s mental health. Too many of us carry heavy battles in silence. I’ve been there. Running has taught me this truth: when you keep moving and keep your faith, there’s always a way through. Don’t quit on yourself, and don’t be afraid to speak up. Here’s the bottom line: anyone can achieve something extraordinary. You can run farther than you thought possible, you can build the life you’ve dreamed of, and you can become the person you were meant to be. But it only happens if you refuse to quit. The finish line isn’t for the most “talented.” It’s for those who keep going when everything in them wants to stop. So whatever mountain you’re facing right now—don’t give up. Keep moving.

Great Job Bradley
Community Standards Reminder
Hey everyone — I want to take a quick moment to set the tone and protect what we’re building here. This discussion board is for healthcare professionals — nurses, paramedics, doctors, and others in the field — who are committed to improving their wellness, fitness, nutrition, and overall well-being. That’s the purpose of this community, and that’s what our conversations and resources will always be centered around. ❌ What this is not: - A place for marketing agents, spammers, or coaches trying to pitch their services. - Endless self-promotion or irrelevant posts. ✅ What this is: - A space to learn, share, encourage, and grow as healthcare providers who are working on our own health. - A community of people who “get it” — because we live it. I’m going to keep membership open for now to give as many people as possible the chance to join. But if it becomes clear that spam and off-topic content are taking over, I will remove those members and may require proof of healthcare licensure for future entry. We’re building something meaningful here, and I want to make sure it stays that way. Thanks for respecting the mission and keeping this a safe, valuable place for us all. Thanks for setting such a clear direction, Coach Brad. It's refreshing to see a group focused on real value and shared growth. Looking forward to learning from others here and contributing where I can.
Creatine Isn’t Just for Bodybuilders Creatine Isn’t Just for Bodybuilders
Creatine is one of the most researched and effective supplements out there—yet so many people (especially women) skip it. 👉Why it matters for everyone (including women): - Boosts strength and muscle recovery - Supports brain health & memory - Improves energy production during high-stress, high-intensity moments (like running calls ) - May even help with mood and fatigue management How to use it: - 3–5g daily (no need to “load”) - Take it with water or mix into your shake/coffee - Consistency matters more than timing Ladies, don’t shy away from creatine—it won’t bulk you up, but it will make you stronger, sharper, and more resilient.

Really solid breakdown, Bradley! A lot of people still think creatine is just for bodybuilders, so it’s great to see you clearing that up, especially for women. Love how you made it simple and practical.

You're welcome Bradley
Daily Nutrition Tip
Don’t skip breakfast—even on night shifts. Your first meal sets the tone for energy and cravings the rest of the day (or night). Aim for protein + fiber to stay full and focused. Examples: - Scrambled eggs with veggies - Greek yogurt with berries & chia - Overnight oats with protein powder A strong start = fewer crashes, better focus, and more stable energy for your shift.
