What do you do when you're in a slump?
Recently I've lost motivation when it comes to the daily run; it's been cold and I'm not a fan. So in my little mind I thought the best way to encourage the motivation to return was to sign up for a 12 hour event. Never run that far/long (have a few 50ks under my belt) but, here we go. There is work to do in the 25 weeks until the day. I want to drop 30ish pounds, learn to love (or at least tolerate) the gym, and get time on feet. But I'm pretty fired up and here for it. So what does anyone else to to break a slump? Especially this time of year.

I’m trying this approach too. July for me. 🀞🏻

5k today with a nice walk home. Today’s plan was 3 miles. I went back to a plan I followed for my marathon a couple of years ago along with a strength training plan. This week has felt pretty good. Hope you had a great day πŸ’ž

Wish I could do that time!
Australia is now on the forever runner map ;)
I think I’m the first Australian on the map. ;) I live in Brisbane and didn’t start running until 56 years old. I’m now 61. Been off running for a few months but starting back with hill walking. I have a high heart rate when I run so looking at trying a different approach this time around. Have had every test going and have no issues with my heart. In fact I have 0 calcium score and carotid arteries are great too. But it’s quite frustrating. I’m not interested in marathons just 5k runs but get tired, I assume because my heart rate is so high, by about 3km so could never quite reach my goal of a 30 min 5k. Possibly because I started so late in life, I have aerobic deficiency syndrome?

@Herb Reeves oh! I missed them on the map. Thanks for the welcome. Would be great to get it down somewhat :)
