BEHIND THE J4K SCENES πŸ‘€
For you guys in the community who are thinking about having your own goalkeeper gloves one day - here is another opportunity to have a taste of what it is like. Feel free to add your colour combo and share below.. Also, if J4K likes a colour combo and runs with the colours - the designer will get those gloves for free just like @Riley Reynolds and @Emily Hart ... PLEASE NOTE: Just for transparency guys, we do normally have our colours already sorted and so we may not pick a winner... but sometimes when we see a member put so much effort in like Riley and Emily... we will pick that person (s). Lets see your colours below guys πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

2-1 Loss PWDFL Premier -BSB v Phoenix
Some clips from our last game. πŸŸͺBSB Harchester v Plymouth Phoenix⬜ Plymouth West Devon Premier Division 2-1 loss for BSB Going in at half time 1-1 against a very strong Phoenix side is a high point in our season πŸ™Œ An end to end game with both teams threatening throughout. N.B - Some of the goalkeeping from myself here is technically appalling 🫣 so many faults can be picked. I wanted to post this clip after commenting on a post about perfectionism when it comes to keepers 😊............. (We all secretly do it! 🀣) From the video: -The ball should not have dropped on the 6-yard line -The choice of handling technique on the spill was completely wrong. - Leading with top hand on a save that could've been handled. The list could go on all day the longer I watch... Sometimes being our own harshest critic can lead into taking away from personal wins from time to time. It's difficult to find the balance necessary for development, that's the beautiful journey of becoming a goalkeeper πŸ™Œ It's healthy and essential to be focussed on your technique to develop it. πŸ’ͺ It's the path to developing yourself. Look to be the best you can be and ALWAYS enjoy your game πŸ’― Never quash your own wins πŸ’œ

Hi Everyone, My name is Ash and I am on here for my 8 year old son Cameron. He is following his dads footsteps and taken on the responsibility of the gloves. Proud dad here!! He trains with J4K and is with Charing FC. Like most keepers he is a confidence keeper and a perfectionist. I have told him we all make mistakes but wondered what other parents / coaches do / say to help him with this.

Hey Ashley and Cameron 😊 It's never a bad thing to be a perfectionist, but realising it's unobtainable is part of the struggle! Nailing every technique on the training ground is a healthy trait, but most goalkeepers 'best' saves are rarely 'textbook'. As a keeper yourself I bet there are some saves that stay long in the memory where if they were to be analysed over and over again you could pick fault with it. For example, Some of the 'best' saves seen on TV which pundits applaud and rave are cases where if the keeper was in the correct set position, footwork etc, he could've caught it stood still. Think of it like the Fire Brigade. I'm sure there are always ways that they could've perfectly, to the T, put out the fire, or rescue somebody. Especially looking in hindsight. But the important task at hand is to, by any means, put out the fire and rescue πŸ™Œ The win is in the win itself πŸ’―πŸ˜ŠπŸ† A good warmup focussing on his strong elements of his game before matches could be a good way to get his confidence high going into the game πŸ’―πŸ˜Š Wishing Cameron luck on his goalkeeping journey! πŸ†πŸ™ŒπŸ’œ

1-0 Win, the Clean Sheet had a close call πŸ«£πŸ‘€
1-0 win for South Brent Vs Drake in the South Devon Football League, not often you get a low scoreline of just 1 goal in games at this level. A fair and end to end game, a really good battle πŸ’―

Not a Goalkeeping Win per say, but a HUGE win for our club and local grassroots πŸ’―πŸ† Next season our club takes it's first steps into youth football, expanding from our adults team to field x2 under 12 sides and an under 9s team in 2026/27. We are wanting to carry the ethics of our club into junior grassroots: - Community - Togetherness - Resilience - Honour Our Adults team has built itself around the above and it's a gift to have a group like them πŸ’œ I have been searching for months for the perfect ground which our club can use as a foundation for the start of our youth football journey. And it's been nothing short of a mammoth task at times, it seemed for the most part that it was truly a needle in a haystack situation! Tonight I met with the league committee and presented our plans for some disused football fields which are slowly being lost and forgotten. With some great support from local councillors and MPs supporting our project we have managed to secure our first home ground for our new youth teams and project!!!!!!!πŸ†πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ† Not specifically a goalkeeping win, but it's such a win for our players and the future of our clubπŸ™πŸ’―πŸ™ŒπŸ’œ It may not look like much now, but we now have a foundation to work from and we are really excited to start this next chapter and help revive some pitches which can be brought back in use for the local community and our players ☺️ I hope everyone had a great weekend! πŸ’― πŸŸͺπŸŸͺπŸŸͺπŸŸͺπŸŸͺπŸŸͺβ¬›β¬œβ¬›πŸŸͺπŸŸͺπŸŸͺπŸŸͺπŸŸͺπŸŸͺπŸŸͺ
