New Masterclass on the Calendar!
@Des Dreckett is at it again with an experiment he is conducting in real time! This is what Des has to say: I'm running a live experiment out in the open, and I want to walk you through it. My community, YouTube For Skool, is priced at $5 a year. That's not an accident, and it's not me being cheap. It's a deliberate tripwire. Free member counts don't tell you much; people join free things out of curiosity all the time. A near-free paid action tells you something completely different. Anyone willing to hand over even a small amount of money is a different kind of prospect to someone who just clicked join. That's the pricing side of the experiment. The other side is Growth Boost. Skool's Growth Boost feature fronts ad spend and pushes Discovery for your community, but it takes a 30 per cent commission on anything it attributes. At $5 a year, that commission is tiny, so this phase isn't really about Growth Boost pushing hard for me yet. It's proof of concept. I'm watching what Discovery does on its own versus what Growth Boost actually contributes, and I'll only move to a recurring $5 to $9 a month price once I've got 50 paying members and real data on willingness to pay, not before. On Thursday 13th August at 8 pm London (3 pm New York, 12 pm Los Angeles), I'm running a live session walking through the whole thing. If you've had questions about how Growth Boost actually works, this isn't just an explanation; you'll see the experiment running in real time, with real numbers, while it's still unfolding. If you're building a paid Skool community yourself, or wondering whether your pricing is set up right for Growth Boost to actually work for you, come watch it live. This is a genuinely useful experiment to be transparent about, @Shannon Boyer , thanks for sharing. The tripwire pricing logic makes a lot of sense to me. $5 filters for intent way better than a free join ever could, and separating what Discovery does organically from what Growth Boost actually contributes is the kind of test most people skip because they just want the growth number to go up. Definitely tuning into this one on the 13th, curious to see the real numbers rather than a theory of how it should work. Appreciate @Des Dreckett running this out in the open. 🙌

Have a story that could help other entrepreneurs? I'd love to feature it.
Hi everyone! I recently launched the YBC Podcast, a new show where I sit down with entrepreneurs, creators, agency owners, coaches and community builders to uncover the real strategies behind business growth. The first episode features Dr. Bradford Carlton, who has built: • 12,000+ YouTube subscribers • A community of 6,600+ members • A business powered by content and AI systems instead of manual outbound 🎥 Watch the episode here: More importantly... I'm looking for more founders to feature. If you've built something you're proud of... Scaled a business... Built an audience... Created a successful offer... Or learned lessons that could help other entrepreneurs... @Shannon Boyer , I'm still waiting to get you on the podcast! 😄 I know the value you share with this community would make for an incredible conversation, and I hope we can make it happen soon. Aslo I'd love to have a conversation. The purpose of this podcast is to give great entrepreneurs another platform to share their story, expand their reach, and create opportunities through authentic conversations. If that sounds like you or someone you know send me a DM or tag them below. Let's tell more stories that deserve to be heard.

@Monika Richrath I can respect that. It sounds like you've found a way of growing that feels aligned rather than forcing things. How do you decide when it's time to take action versus letting things unfold naturally?

@Monika Richrath Makes sense. Sounds like intuition decides when you move, not whether you move. Has that approach been getting your community where you want it to be, or are there parts of growth that still feel harder to predict?

@Dr. Peninah Wood Ph.D I can understand why that would be discouraging if you're investing in other communities and not seeing the kind of reciprocal relationships you're hoping for. It sounds like your concern isn't the software itself as much as the audience and culture around it. If you could design the ideal environment for your community, what would be different?

@Dr. Peninah Wood Ph.D That makes sense. If Google is where your clients are already looking, have you been creating content that's bringing in search traffic yet, or is that something you're still building?
