It’s great to see your enthusiasm and commitment to pursuing opportunities in government contracting. Getting started with DIBBS is a solid first step and seeking mentorship is a smart move to accelerate your progress. I’d be happy to support you as a mentor and assist you on what to do and how to position yourself to win contracts. The first step is understanding the fundamentals how to identify the right opportunities, respond effectively, and ensure your business is properly set up and compliant. From there, we can focus on strategies that improve your chances of winning, including pricing, documentation and building credibility.

@Ola Michael That’s a great step getting registered on SAM.gov is an important milestone. You’re definitely on the right track. I can assist you through how I approach bidding, including how I identify opportunities, structure my proposals, and avoid common beginner mistakes. It can save you a lot of time and help you get your first win faster

Connections with COs?
Hi all @Day Cantave is there a way to make connections with COs directly? If anyone knows any COs please hook us up with them so we can introduce ourselves and make ourselves noticed maybe will get us h higher chances of winning bids. I’ve noticed majority of the time email and phone calls not working.

Helping Businesses Win Government Contracts
Hi everyone, my name is Roniesa Moore. I’m based in Georgia and I’ve been working in the government contracting space for several years. I’ve successfully won contracts and have hands-on experience with the full process—from finding opportunities, analyzing solicitations, sourcing vendors, pricing, and submitting bids. I also support other businesses with structuring and positioning themselves to compete in this space. My current focus is scaling—building consistency, securing larger opportunities, and expanding partnerships within government contracting. One of my biggest challenges has been moving from smaller wins to more consistent, higher-value contracts. Looking forward to connecting with others who are serious about growth and scaling in this space.

@Willy Gitanga Yes, having a strong capability statement is very important, it’s often one of the first things agencies or primes look at when considering you. Beyond that, success in this space usually comes down to a few key things: targeting the right opportunities, understanding the requirements thoroughly, and building relationships over time. It’s great that you already have your SAM.gov registration set up that’s a big step forward. The next phase is focusing on smaller, more attainable opportunities (like micro-purchases or subcontracting), while also making sure your profile, capability statement, and outreach strategy are aligned. I’d be happy to point you in the right direction. Feel free to ask specific questions, and I’ll do my best to help where I can
