Thank You...
I appreciate all of your condolences regarding my Mother's passing. I will continue to practice daily as it calms me and guides me in remaining focused and at peace. Through all of this I am so grateful to have this practice. It would have been harder to get through without it.🙏

Gooooooood Morning, Rooted Alchmey What a beautiful morning outside. The stars are out and praise be to the gods no wind. What a time to stand the post. It’s 4:30 am and a bit early for the day to start but today is bread day. Once a month I make sour dough bread and it’s an all day process so have to get my practice in early. Today is week 2 of Tai Chi. Looking forward to practice with great anticipation Hope everyone is looking forward to the zoom meetings Stay grounded, be in the moment, and have an enlighten practice P. S. Hug your love ones especially the dogs (cats not so much 😁) 🤜🫷

Moving Beyond Form Xin Qi Shen - Body Energy Spirit Qi Xin Shen - Energy Body Spirit Shen Qi Xin - Spirit Energy Body ⸻ The wonders of the internal arts, for the dedicated practitioner, move far beyond the mere exercise of the movements and attending classes one or more times a week. These arts are the physical manifestation of the Taoist philosophy. They are a series of hand-on exercises we can practice to understand the Tao. How to practice non- action, harmonizing with nature, understanding our own nature, nurturing a non-fighting mind, merging with the flow of the universe. “To flow with the universe is to find peace and contentment, to resist the flow is to fight and find difficulty.” ⸻ This all takes study, practice, and work to arrive at understaing, knowledge, and non- action. In all fields of art or skill there are the basics to master. Just as pianists must practice their scales in order to develop physical coordination, flow, and an understanding of the piano, our solo forms do exactly the same. Looking at an accomplished piano player as well as a Taiji practitioner it all looks so easy. This easy, or non-action/non-effort they exhibit all comes from years of disciplined and mindful practice. You just don’t sit down at the piano as a beginner and play Jazz. ⸻ Xin is the first level of our practice. This is not only learning the physical movements but studying the body mechanics and structure they require and teach. Once the basics are somewhat understood we need to move past the technical to the flow, to the energy, to the coordination of the physical elements. ⸻ Qi is energy. This can also mean flow. In our forms this also translates as studying the transitions of the movements since the art is more than the postures. Everything becomes a transition. In our forms this could be the continuous flow of the ripple of power moving up from our legs to be

"As we practice we are actually cultivating our own spirit, our own uniqueness." Amazing! Perhaps now in my senior years I can finally find and be myself! 🙏

Sunday Qi Talk
Hey everyone—this Sunday we’re kicking off our monthly Qi Talk series 🌀 Qi Talk is a relaxed, open Q&A space for our community. You can ask questions about Tai Chi, Qigong, training, or just share what you’ve been working on and experiencing in your practice. The Qi Talk will start at 10:15am this Sunday following the Qi & Flow class and a short break. To get things started, drop your questions or topics in this thread ahead of time so we can make sure to cover them. Even if you can’t attend live, you’ll still benefit from the discussion. And of course, you’re welcome to join live and ask questions in real time. Looking forward to hearing what’s on your mind and seeing some of you there 🙏

Sonny, a great idea. I'd love to join in when home life settles into a better routine. However, I've a couple of comments! So often since starting, I've noticed 2 things in particular: my balance, even in Tai Chi walking it is poor; also one side of me feels better than the other in comprehending a move! Understanding and adjusting my own 76 years of physically being in this world, is a challenge and requires real effort. Even with all my questions, I say thank you. Your method of "cycle" training is spot on! Thank you. 🙏

@Maya Rodriguez Dear Maya, thank you for your wonderful comments. I agree and hope that even at 76, I can continue to learn. 🙏
Qi & Flow 8 Week Training Cycle
🌿 Welcome Hey everyone, this is the community post for the 8-week Tai Chi training cycle. Check in here to see what week we’re on and what is up next. Ask any questions and comment on how things are going. I will be filling this space with information about the Beijing 24 and supporting materials over time. 🌊 We’ll keep this thread active and alive throughout the entire eight weeks, so take your time getting acquainted with the information and feel free to participate as much or as little as you would like. Following the flow and methods of the Tai Ji Tree, our 8 week training cycle introduces the universal concepts of tai chi Chuan and classical training methods drawn from across the Tai Chi landscape. Using the intentionally designed sequence of the Beijing 24 form as our starting point, students will learn to build their tai chi from the ground up, creating a centered and rooted practice that will give them the tools needed for long-term growth and study. . 🔴 Weekly Schedule 一 (Yi) — Week 1 — March 10–16 二 (Er) — Week 2 — March 17–23 三 (San) — Week 3 — March 24–30 四 (Si) — Week 4 — March 31–April 6 五 (Wu) — Week 5 — April 7–13 六 (Liu) — Week 6 — April 14–20 七 (Qi) — Week 7 — April 21–27 八 (Ba) — Week 8 — April 28–May 4 All sessions are recorded and archived and can be reviewed at anytime. Hi Sonny! This is brilliant. My practice has been haphazard so far, as I try to adjust to the long road to recovery of my wife's heart health. Still, I shouldn't be making excuses! Like any "beginner" I've rushed in & want to become more proficient too quickly! The fact that you offer so many different ways to learn (the 7 day challenge or the 8 pieces of brocade AND archived live sessions) means that I can work at my own pace, and as you often suggest, it is my form, one that I own. If I do things a little differently, well that's okay; it's the practice and consistent embedding of the form that will benefit me in the long run. After all it's a long and healthy life that we all want! 🙏
