Focus for the week (pacing)
This week, practice varying your pace during training. Start slow and gradually increase your pace until the end. Go from slow to fast to slow again. Put your attention on pace and vary it intentionally instead of just reacting to your partner. Don’t worry if you miss opportunities. Notice how your partner reacts when you change pace. We are just sharpening tools that may not have been used in a while.

Happy New Year 🎆 (part 1)
Hey everyone, Thank you so much for being a part of this community. I am honored by your engagement and support. I started this group so that I could share what I’ve learned with people who don't have the proximity to the source that I’ve been so fortunate to have. I am truly blessed to be guided by Master Rickson on a daily basis. I trust that you have gotten something out of this trial period. I want everyone to have a place where they can feel supported by their peers and find the guidance they’re looking for. What would you do?
You are out with your family and a drunk guy starts acting aggressive and yelling profanity at you. You keep a safe distance with your hands in good position trying to defuse and suddenly your wife steps in between you and the aggressor to try to defuse the situation.

Started bjj in 2012, got my blue belt in 2014, and have been on and off the mat since then. Started in sport, but prefer self defense concepts over anything else. Once I started learning Rickson’s concepts, I thought to myself, “ what the hell have I’ve been learning this whole time lol. That being said, I refuse to learn anything else since then and have been obsessed since. 🥋
