Spitfire Symphony Orchestra - is it good enough?
Hello everyone. Although I already own some good orchestral libraries, I'm wondering if you consider Spitfire Symphony Orchestra good enough to expand my collection. I think the current offer is more than good and the question is whether there will be more opportunities like this (although I have the impression that in the future many libraries will be cheaper, as if some new phase with Splice is coming), but the whole bundle together with Symphonic Extras and Originals Intimate Grand Piano costs me 234€. Cheaper than getting Symphony Orchestra at the 50% discount on the entire cart that is currently active. I'm especially interested in the opinions of those who may own the library and have actively worked on a project with it. Thanks everyone in advance.

@Dominik Škrabal - really bummed me out seeing what they did with it, but I still used those old LABS libraries all the time!
Ingame Track Challenge
Hey guys, here is a new challenge! I tried to set it up like the typical gaming script that you get from game developers but made it a bit more "hardcore". Let's say it's a very picky client but VERY conversational when it comes to questions! The message here is to follow the requirements 100000% but ask if anything is unclear, even though it is the most stupid thing to ask! - Not longer than 1:30 min. Doesn't have to be exactly 1:30 min, a few seconds less is OK - Looped - File format - 48Khz, 24bit wav - Orchestral track in the style of Nobuo Uematsu - Style: 100% Orchestral - Lead melody instrument: String Section - Tempo: mid to fast Scenario: During this part of the game the party of heroes travels through the world via airship. Since the party is travelling very often, we will hear this track quite a few times during a game session. Make sure it sounds fantastic, the mood should support the uplifting and positive feeling of travelling through air. It should also strongly support the feeling of ultimate freedom and should give the player the feeling they can go wherever they want. There is no dialogue while travelling so you are free to play with STRONG melodies. Again, keep in mind that players will hear this track very often, so avoid anything that sounds too annoying, repetive and stressful. We want pure joy and freedom! We don't want the typical background track of 2-3 instruments and solo strings. We want a bit of a fuller arrangement. How you do it, doesn't matter as long as it sounds great and supports the scene! Find a picture attached for inspiration. We need this track by the end of August.

@Marcel Gruhn - this is really cool. It made me feel like I was riding in a giant airship...so perfect vibe for the referenced image! This might be my favorite I've heard so far.

@Mário Bengalita - I like this a lot. It really took me back to playing RPGs like Skies of Arcadia...well done!
Free Libraries!
Hi everyone, As we all know sample libraries are better than they've ever been. I just thought I'd start this thread & ask/share what are your favorite free libraries out there?

@Cedric Sourd - oh man, I love this one...grabbed it last year when they put it free and it really has an extra smack the other LA-2A's don't. I use 'em all but this one I love to smash a drum bus with!
Do DAWs sound different?
I've seen the question "Which DAW should I use?" asked here several times. Hopefully the video below will help to make people's decisions a little easier.

@Ces Malacon - yes, absolutely! If you just try to recreate a song in another DAW, it will sound totally different just matching settings alone.

@Robert Lundgren - yup, this 100%...any "sound difference" is negligible as proven by numerous cross DAW null tests with same stems...pan laws on the other hand, totally different and can cause you to think it sounds different with same exact fader, pan, plugin settings from one DAW to the next. I've tested this personally with Logic and Studio One...if you make all settings the same, they'll sound totally different because of pan laws.
