Fracture Point (Orchestral and Metal(?) Hybrid)
Looking for some feedback on a track I wrote over two days with a friend of mine. I haven't had a ton of experience recording real instruments before (Specifically Electric Guitar), so feedback on that aspect would be great! Feedback on the composition in general would be fantastic too!
Video Game Track with a lot of Time Signature Changes
Looking for some feedback on a track I just finished. This one was loosely inspired by the sanctuary tracks from Deltarune, and their absurd amount of time signature changes. I'm especially curious about what people's opinions on the instrumentation.
Video Game Esque Orchestral Composition
Hi all! Been looking for some feedback on a track I wrote in a couple of days. It's not for anything in particular, but I was loosely inspired by some video game soundtracks. I'm not sure if I'm doing this in the right spot, so correct me if I've messed something up 😅 A bit about myself: I'm 16, and I've only been composing for around a year and half. I haven't really focused on any specific style of composition and have jumped around quite a bit, so I don't think I really specialize in any one genre. I'm super keen to improve at orchestral work though!
What do you practise to keep fit?
This question goes specifically to (semi) pros in the Trailer/VGM and Film Music branche: What do you practise to keep your skills fit for your job? Do you do ear training? Instrumental practise? Mixing practise? Or do you just always produce tracks and improve through that? Curious what you musical routines look like :)
Akira Yamaoka and his Silent Hill
Hi friends, I have no doubt that you would know such a legend from the gaming-music industry, and I don’t mean anyone other than Akira Yamaoka. Since I don’t have time for games anymore and I played Silent Hill 2 when the sequel came out back in 2001, and I absolutely fell in love with the game. I played through it about ten times and saw all the endings. And that music really resonated with me back then too. Only now that the remake from Polish studio Bloober Team came out recently, I got my hands on the completely reworked soundtrack with 93 tracks. Well, it ended up with me having to order the 6LP version, which will be released in the fall. What do you think about the soundtrack? It’s available in full on YouTube. https://youtu.be/Q47veZhrMW8
