Skate Music Dump🎶
If I had a dollar for every time I got asked what's the name of the song I'm using or where do I get all of this music from? I'd already be rich! I don't gate keep nothing! But you do need to know the right places to look if you wanna find some good skate music so here's the latest JB album that I've been listening to... it's absolute 🔥🔥 👇🏽 [Click Here For the JB Mix] 👆🏽 And if you like that album and more skate music, then just look through my bandcamp collection and you'll have plenty of inspiration. Comment a link to your favorite skate song! Who knows maybe someone should start a SK8SHOT Society music playlist?😎
I have been looking for the Jolene jb remix forever and finally found it for anyone that is interested. Jo-Lean by DJ Sykez.
on Bandcamp like a lot of the skate music.
Skating in public...with no skates
I know i'm not the only crazy person here who skates in my shoes throughout the day, right?😂 My favorite is practicing my pivots like im snapping, using a grocery cart at the store lol. What about yall?
I usually do this at home, but I should start doing it every where lol
Skating event wrap up
So my first event was from Wednesday to Sunday last week. I skated every single day of it too! I think I can call at least that a win. That I actually went. I was a little in awe of the skaters there. I was one of the newest skaters and kinda got a little down on myself. I spent a lot of time on the outside (we don’t have carpet at all at our rink) practicing different things. I took a class and couldn’t get all the moves down. It was on NY/NJ style and while I could do the full pivot, I couldn’t catch the half pivots or the back 6. Like I would need a month prob to learn it while the rest of the class got it down within the hour 🥺 Other than that, I fully enjoyed it and was happy that I was on my skates so much. Now I just got a lot of work to do to try to get the moves down. Next event is in July!! Already have my hotel booked.

You were at Borderline ? I was there from friday to sunday. I gave up halfway into the NY/NJ workshop. My feet were starting to hurt. 🤣 It's my second time there. It's fun to watch all the amazing skaters, but definately a bit intimidating too with people flying everywhere ! 😆 Way to go on showing up from wednesday to sunday !! I get a little down too watching people being so good, but it's part of the process. We are all making some progress everytime we put on our skates. 💪🏼

@Lisa Ray For sure, https://www.instagram.com/eskaandar?igsh=MWsxaXBjM2s0MGRvZQ== I went to Scooter's for the first time end of march. We unfortunately don't have a rink yet out here in Montreal. 🥲
Back to the Basics
So I’ve been skating for a little over 2 years now and where I skate, routines are a big focus for majority of the people that come to the rink. While, yes this is helpful and while I’ve learned a few routines, I’ve noticed that because I skipped a lot of fundamentals, I struggle sometimes teaching other people and with learning new moves. Also, that I shy away from trying different moves because it requires fundamentals that I either don’t have or that I’m not strong in. I’m really going to try to focus on putting myself in a vulnerable position to strengthen my fundamentals so that I can learn some moves that I really want to learn like Heel Flares for example.

I have been skating for almost two years and I love drilling individual moves and fundamentals. It helps me feel more and more comfortable on my skates. I still struggle a lot with choreo since I don't practice that as much.
Arius Plate Cushions
Hi. Does anyone else have a powerdyne arius plate? I recently switched to this plate (all yellow-green - 86A) and have just switched my front cushions to white (80A). Curious if y'all could share your cushion setup and what kind of skating you do / what you found helpful to find a cushion setup that works (e.g. are you replacing only one cushion at a time? etc.) My plan is to just keep adjusting down until I find a good balance. I only have stock colours, but will buy some more options soon.

Hello, I have this plate with the softest cushions available ( orange) and I love it, but my preferred style is JB so I got used to skating with loose trucks before that. I know some people mix and match cushions, but I haven't gone that far yet. Maybe one day if I feel I need something different.
