The work you're avoiding isn't hard, it's uncomfortable. So you reach for the inbox, the feed, the "research." And if you're honest with yourself the first step is always the hardest, and alone at your desk there's nothing forcing it, and willpower was never going to fix that. What does? 5 engaging questions to get you moving on purpose towards your outcome, and a zoom room of other people who just watched you declare your target...that fixes your stucky-ness in about ninety seconds flat! Hi, I'm AJ and I built the Ship It Club and app to support creators, knowledge experts and service professionals and help them finally beat procrastination and get that product, proposal, new campaign or launch out the door! A few years ago I was a member of a private community that developed a work-cycles process that transformed my output (and later my identity). I turned a copywriting freelance side gig into a full time role, then into a small PPC agency. That community went away and, I'm embarrassed to admit, my productivity started to decline. A few weeks ago, in an AI group I'm a member of, a discussion kicked off around procrastination, resistance, and how the fudge do we get the right things done and out the door when there's a million and one distractions and the AI rabbit hole to get lost in daily... I shared my experience of being part of the old productivity community and a few people wanted to try it... A weekend of development later I'd built The Ship It Club app, which schedules and tracks the work you ship during managed group co-working sessions. A few of us starting meeting during the week to get sh*t done and the results have been amazing! I think this could be a real help to those who struggle to stay focused, who welcome a little bit of accountability, and are fed up and tired of working alone on a laptop, with no sense of community or team spirit. If that's you, then join us :) I've got 20 free beta seats I'm giving away so that when paying members join they're not walking into an empty room.

@Faith Adebayo great question! Back in the day it was the simple task of hitting a few big deadlines on a couple of projects with a lot of difficult, tedious, but required tasks. At the time I was frustrated that I couldn't generate the internal accountability I thought I should have. However, when I leaned into the surprisingly effective power of public accountability, in a community of others getting sh#t done, my output was transformed.
How to get great results from your posts in this community!
I asked Chatty G to analyze the posts in this group that have the highest engagement (excluding admin posts) and make recommendations about how people could create better posts. This is what it said: I’ve been spending some time looking at the posts here to figure out why some take off while others barely get seen — and the patterns are pretty clear. If you want your promo post to actually get attention (and not just disappear into the feed), here’s what I’ve noticed consistently works: 💡 1. Lead with something people care about — not just the name of your offer. Instead of starting with “Join my group” or “Here’s my course,” open with a question, a challenge, or a common pain point your audience has. The best-performing posts usually make the reader think “Oh, that’s me.” 🎯 2. Keep the focus tight. Posts that promote one clear thing — a free resource, a single workshop, a focused offer — get far more engagement than those that list everything you do. If you have multiple things to share, make separate posts over time. 📈 3. Show the benefit, not just the feature. Telling people “I run a membership” is less compelling than “I help coaches sign their first 5 clients.” Always connect what you’re offering to the result it creates. 🤝 4. Make it feel like an invitation, not a sales pitch. The posts with the most traction don’t pressure anyone. They share something valuable and then say, “If this sounds helpful, here’s where to go.” A soft invitation builds more trust here than a hard sell. ✨ 5. Demonstrate your value inside the post itself. A short insight, quick tip, or example of your expertise within the post does more to build credibility than any list of credentials. It gives people a reason to believe you before they ever click. None of this requires being pushy or salesy — it’s just about making sure your message is framed in a way that resonates. The more valuable and relevant we make our posts, the more this space will work for all of us. What do you think? Have you noticed the same or different patterns?

Free Masterclass Thursday! Why Events Get 3x Turnout
Our own @Des Dreckett is hosting this session. Check it out! Why Some Skool Events Get 3x The Turnout For ages, I assumed the best way to run a community event was getting members to join first, then watch. Turns out that's backwards, and I've got the data to prove it. I tested this across a few different communities over the past few weeks, and the results genuinely changed how I think about running events. Not a small difference either. We're talking roughly 3x the turnout when you flip the usual order. On Thursday 20th August at 8 pm GMT (3 pm EST / 12 pm PST), I'm presenting live across multiple Skool communities to break down exactly what I found. I'll walk through what the data actually showed, why the "join first" model quietly kills turnout for most community owners, and what I'm doing differently now with my own events and with clients. This isn't theory. It's what's actually working right now, and you'll be able to apply it to your very next event. If you run a community, host webinars, or run any kind of live session and want more people actually showing up, this one's for you. Drop a comment if you're planning to join live. See you Thursday.
