So, today is the last day of my first 3 week challenge. My struggle is going to be to continue my 24-hour fast today with a bunch of company coming over to eat food that I have to prep. I may not make it, lol! Other than that, the pros for the challenge is that I saw weight loss and inches come off quickly so results were fast and made it easier to stick to it. The fasting hours were easy to follow. I didn't feel hungry during that time. I think it was because I drank more water. The cons, I had a really hard time hitting my numbers. I was typically under every day. It was easier to eat most of the grams of carbohydrates and fats. The protein was the hardest consume the right amount of grams. Overall, I liked the results so far. I'm going to take a week off and plan on starting the challenge again after that.
Easy Protein
Is it breakfast, is it a snack, is it just a power move to get more protein in? A quick 4 egg scramble with some avocado and chimichurri sauce is my favorite 16-20 g boost. I rarely feel bogged down from a protein snack like this. The key for me is adding a few thin slices of Asiago cheese and using coconut oil at the right temp, flipping it kind of Crepe/ burrito style, leaving thin walls of protein, and bringing out the richness in each bite. The fat content along with a little bit of a natural binder for the egg keeps me from feeling the nausea you can get just eating eggs. The sauce and and avocado add texture and depth that takes 30 extra seconds to create. Be generous with sea salt and ground pepper. Sometimes the devil is in the details, but don’t worry about presentation or making it a full course, just learn how to do stuff like this quickly, and you never feel hungry, deprived or left missing your PROTEIN count;)

Wow that looks great and sounds even better! Do they make asiago cheese dairy free? Or is this the cheat Day meal? LOL 😆
General questions
Good morning all. Happy belated Mother's Day to all the mothers. I had my cheat day yesterday. It was good. I don't feel that I completely went overboard, lol. This is my first go at the 3 week challenge. I made it a week. I feel that I am doing pretty good but I have several questions. I have a hard time hitting my numbers most of the days. Will I still lose weight if I miss my numbers for my proteins, fats, and carbohydrates? What fruits and vegetables should I completely avoid? And when I cook with coconut oil or avocado oil do I need to count the fat toward my fat grams per day? Will fresh squeezed lemon juice or ginger tea break my fast during my intermittent stage? Is it recommended to take a break/cheat day every week to give your body a break, or does it not matter? I felt like I was doing great the first 4 days. I could feel the progress just in general. On the 5th and 6th day, before my cheat day, I didn't feel the same progress.

NOT SO BLAND;) BREAKFAST
One of the great pleasures of intermittent fasting, aside from becoming more metabolically efficient, teaching the body to burn fat for fuel and entering a state of autophagy, is the pleasure of eating a big breakfast after a successful I.F. week. I take pride and joy in a big breakfast ritual on the weekends- from prepping and cooking while listening to a podcast, to the feast itself and the post meal clean up. The whole process feels like I’m taking time to celebrate life and focus on gratitude for the nourishment nature provides for our energy systems. I invite my daughter and wife to enjoy, but sometimes it’s just me and i get to hone in on making the perfect plate. This is a simple recipe that i repeat every weekend i can, without worry or calorie count, fasting window or activity load. -4 farm fresh, free range eggs scrambled omelet style w/3 slices Rocking W farm Pepper Jack Cheese -Handful Organic Blackberries -Kulina Lani Sour Dough w/ Coconut Oil & avocado -Organic Sausage Links -Fire Roasted Salsa -Crème Fraîche -Chives from garden -Harmony Kombucha -Heavy sprinkle of Redmond’s Sea Salt & Ground Black Pepper. The devil is in the details. Enjoy!
