Uncle Jimmy, Does It Really Work to Build a Cold Calling Team Overseas on Commission?
Hey @Uncle Jimmy Mitchell I see a lot of agency owners trying to hire people from places like the Philippines, India, Africa, etc. The logic is that these reps speak good English, have a decent accent, and can hold a conversation. But here’s the concern: - Does it actually make sense to hire and train them for cold calling if they’re only on commission? - Cold calling is tough — business owners get calls daily, and just following a script with good English isn’t enough. - Motivation can drop quickly, and if they quit, all the time and training invested goes to waste. So, what’s your take?👉 Does this model even work long term?👉 How would you approach building a reliable cold calling team?

In my opinion (I've probably invested more into this than the majority in the group) No. I've only ever found 2 people who were genuinely good at cold calling (Invested $1500 interviewed 30 people and had 30 -50 more say no after hearing it's an outbound role) and even then I was still better and more effective myself It's a skill, that very very little people have. The likelihood you find someone who is good and is willing to make calls for someone else's business is pretty low in my personal experence And if you're looking at a different country, forget it. Building a team and finding good talent for cold calling is harder than cold calling yourself to get to a position to turn on ads BUT if you still go for it, just be aware it's going to take TIME. To find people, interview them, train them, get familiar with your offer etc

great question though
Curious...
Do any of you guys have problems with lead generation, project management, sales and administration and how do you guys solve those problems?

I think everyone has these problems. Sounds like an inadvertent pitch?

Just send 5-10,000 run the numbers yourself and then you can work it out
Optimal Cold Calling Times
When do you guys usually find the best time to cold call is? For me if I call during work hours my prospects are usually on site and don't have time for a pitch, but then if I call after work hours I get a lot of voicemails or people telling me they'd rather talk later because they just finished work

If you're home improvements your issue isnt the time you call it's the way you call Imagine you found a home improvements guy who had just bust a pipe and things were dire. But you offered him a rolls royce for $5. He'd drop what he was doing just to take you up on the offer If they're saying "I'm busy" it really means they don't see the point in listening to you when they could be getting on with working. So I'd recommend you focus on your pitch + kneejerk objection handling If they just say "oh mate. I'm busy" say "ok, cool. Do you mind if I ask is that just a polite way to tell me to go away" OR "ok and just so I know if it's relevant to call you back it's to do with (go into pitch)"
Starting off in SMMA
My name is Jorel, I’m 19 years old and recently started going down the path of SMMA in June. I have been making progress month by month and have outsourced a white-label agency to provide services for clients. I am currently niched in HVAC. However, I have still yet to find a client. I have done about 159 calls already, with about 26 calls resulting in sending an email to the owner. The calls are usually spent getting the owner on the line, or their contact information and providing information about some critical issues in their online presence (GMB, not secure Websites, broken links, etc.) and ways to solve the issues. I have had a few leads who were interested initially but were no longer interested. I am looking for feedback if I am doing something my wrong, if I need to improve my process, or just rethink about how I am approaching this business model. I am also having second thoughts about HVAC niche too. Any advice or criticism is greatly appreciated! Also, please feel free to ask for more context, or general information that will help you get a better understanding.
