Why only one post a day?
I’ve been asked why I limit the posting in this group to once a day, and the answer is for the same reason that I limit how much I personally post in this group each day (I try really hard to limit myself to 2!)…. It’s to protect your visibility. The goal of this group is to help you become as visible as possible. If people are able to post as often as they want, one person could easily clog the feed with their own posts and push everyone else down to lower pages. By limiting everyone to one post a day, everyone gets time on the first page, the quality of the posts goes up, and the overall feel is more conversational and less spammy. Thoughts???

#FriendFriday
Get your typing fingers ready.... it's Friend Friday!!!! That means that IN THE COMMENTS BELOW, you get to shout out a group that has provided value to you or that you think others would benefit from. But don't just drop a link, give us some context. Let us know what it's amazing, how it has helped you, or what type of person it's meant for. Then tag the person or send them a DM to let them know that you mentioned them here! You'll make their weeking - I promise. 😊 Unfortunately, shoutouts that are posted in the main feed will be deleted. Have a great weekend!

We had a really great conversation in the PERSONALS yesterday, and some of us ended up chatting for more than 2 hours! Our next session will be on Wednesday but at a different time, so make sure to check your calendar and block off the date because we will be doing a recorded round-table where you will get to introduce your group, your expertise, and who your group is for. The recording will then be posted to the community as a whole, so you will want to make sure you are there for that! After the round-table, we will turn the recording off and open up for discussion for as long as people want to stay (within reason, I'm not sure I have the stamina for one of @Alexander Walter 's 5-hour marathons!!!! 😂). We discussed many things including how to plan for more members joining the Classifieds (our goal is 10,000 members 🤩). The discussion was around how to make sure that everyone still has the opportunity for visibility when there will be so many members posting. The feeling was that post people won't scroll past the first page. 💡 An idea was put forward to get rid of the General Discussion and Communities tabs (and possibly the Freebies tab) and instead have the categories be based on topics - tech, relationships, health and wellness, education, hobbies... I'm not sure how detailed or specific we would want to go - I guess that would be the next decision. I don't want to have too many categories, so that is something to consider as well... ‼️ I'm looking for feedback to see what the group thinks. For any decision I make, I always make it through the mission, vision, and values of the group, and for this group the simplified answer is this: mission - visibility for all through exposure and enhanced connections and collaborations; vision - 10,000 members interacting and supporting each other in their growth; values - high-quality everything so that there is a reason for people to join, to interact, and to keep coming back!

If it wasn’t online and it was in a newspaper or magazine, what would be the best way to do it?

You have a group of people who've signed up for your community, but now what do you put in your classroom?
If you are looking to your members to help you decide what direction to take your community or what to put in your classroom, there's an effective way of getting the information from them and a way that just ends with crickets. To learn the exact steps you need to take to get meaningful information to make this important decision, check out the standard tier of the "Your Best Course" Build Lab. At the bottom of the classroom in the Build Lab, you will find the "Validate Your Best Course" mini-course that takes you through the proven process of completing an environmental scan - the 7 steps to conducting an informative needs assessment and the 5 steps to conducting a useful market analysis. After going through these steps, you will be confident about the direction you need to take your group and clear about what needs to go in your classroom. Let me know any questions you have in the comments below!
