Organizing Physiology First Notes
Hello everyone, I am currently organizing all of my physiology first notes into a google doc and was wondering if anyone would be interested in receiving a copy once I am finished. I am a decent note taker and love laying things out in a clear and organized fashion so they are very easy to read and understand. I'm sure you all have your own personal notes, and David will be sending out the PDFs soon as well, just wanted to throw it out there if anyone is interested.

13 year old vomiting hours after hard exercise
Hello all A client of mine has a 13 year old son who plays high level basketball. 8 times over the summer he has gone home after playing , eaten and then about an hour later thrown up. Anyone heard of this or can shed any light on why it’s happening? Many thanks in advance Carey

These are all great suggestions! This has got to be a tough thing to work with for the athlete and his family. I would also wonder what his baseline aerobic base is an if he has a strong enough foundation to work these higher intensities off of. Just like David mentioned his lactate threshold may be low. He may also benefit from more efficient recovery BTWN these high intensity bouts as well as following the games. Training to control the dial btwn intensities and moving from high sympathetic to recovery (>parasympathetic). Happy to discuss methods too. Thanks for that article @Allison Krug

Superintendent meeting and funds
Hi All!! Just a little motivation post. I met with my superintendent a couple of weeks ago bc they said they were cutting my program due to lack of funds. We had a wonderful meeting and left off with, this is so necessary for our students and let me check to see what funds we have left. Woke up to an email today that “surprisingly” they have funds and will allocate them to my program! Schools have money, keep building Community (I am deeply rooted in my community) and I truly believe that is why this worked out!!

PFU Seminar 3 days away!
Team! So excited to see you in just a few days. Below you’ll find a short recap of the seminar logistics. Can’t wait to see you all in just 3 days! • First off, come prepared to have FUN and build community👊🏽❤️🔥 The weekend should be an awesome opportunity to bring some incredible people together to create a wave of change in healthcare and education. Our vibe at PFU is very relaxed and chill. We know people are traveling from quite a distance to attend, and we want you to feel at home and in the company of an awesome community. • We’ve decided to shift to a local restaurant close to campus for our Leadership Dinner on Friday evening. We remembered how difficult parking on Friday night in Portland can be and wanted to make sure everyone had a relaxing evening settling in before we head into a full, fun day of learning and training on Saturday! • Bring a bathing suit, towel, and trail running/hiking shoes if you like. If not, whatever you’re comfortable hitting the sauna, cold plunge, trails with on Saturday works! 🏔️🧊🪵🔥 • We may try to fit in a few Vo2 max tests on Saturday afternoon to make Sunday a bit smoother for testing. No fasting is required for the Vo2 max tests (only the RMR tests) so we’ll have to figure out the best timing for testing on an individual basis on Friday evening. We can guarantee that everyone who requested a Vo2 max test will get one. The RMR will be based on peoples comfort level fasting during the activities of the weekend, and hopefully we can both tests done for all. I’ll have a google sign up sheet uploaded tomorrow and we can plan accordingly. See you all soon and incredibly excited to host you this weekend! ~ David https://youtu.be/9y-LmZadn68?si=AOzVB1SIATqikWQS
