#NoBuySept - Affirmation for Day 25/30
---I am richer for enjoying what I own.--- What say you, Gents? Not to mention richer in spirit, I'm also richer in wallet! I looked back on my average monthly fragrance expenditures and realized how much I've saved thus far! For those who know how big my collection is, that's a chunk of change. How about you guys, have you noticed more money in your bank account this month? How does it feel? Love to hear from ya'!

Upon falling short of a strict adherence to the NoBuySept mantra the other day, I lost peace and deeply struggled with the decision to purchase during a weak and unfocused moment. I have come to recognize that peace is priceless and I cannot sell that peace for a bag of magic beans -- or a FOMO perfume, as it were. So, yesterday, I sold several bottles so as to effectively buy back that peace and to reduce a collection that did not need additional fragrances. While this is all twisted logic, I am more at peace today and endeavor to adhere to the NoBuy mantra beyond September 30, perhaps even through October...November.... I have the money in my PayPal account now from selling, and there is a $118 bottle of M.Micallef DesirToxic L'Intense in my OlfactoryFactory cart...waiting...I can wait until it is time...peace of mind is priceless.

Give me your BEST!
About four months from now, I started a journey to better myself step by step. The first step was working out consistently, and the second was reading daily, and so on. I believe it is time for me to step into the world of fragrances, and what better place to ask for advice than here! Please share any advice you have for any of these questions: What fragrances are your go-tos? What are the must-haves? What are phenomenal-smelling and yet not very expensive? What are great daily/special event fragrances? I will read all the replies, and I will be EXTREMELY grateful for any advice shared.

I purchased too many “cheapies” at first in my hope of catching the artistry in a cheaper form. I have come to recognize that no matter the business model of high markups, that one cannot purchase or obtain artistry, beauty or elegance, on the cheap. If I can spend $150 on a dinner with my wife that may or may not be good, and which is over in less than two hours, I can certainly spend that on a fragrance that will last me more than a year! The chase is enticing; discipline achieves the goal.

---Choose a designer classic over a niche choice.--- What say you, Gents? As my nose developed, I naturally moved away from designers and more toward niche and indie offerings. But that's truly a disservice, there's many designers that are just as good, if not better than many niche out there! Which designer brand are you wearing today? What designer frag is as good as, if not superior than, niche? Post here or in the SOTD. Love to hear from ya'!
