Potential scammer need advice
Hey everyone, I need advice on how to proceed. About a month ago I sent a high-value card to a card restoration/repair person who appeared reputable (lots of high-end examples posted, formal process, DocuSign agreement, etc.). He received it, but for the past couple weeks he has repeatedly said “shipping today” and then goes long periods without replying. I still don’t have tracking or a firm return date. What would you do at this point? - Give a 72-hour deadline for front/back timestamped pics + tracking? - Escalate through payment dispute/chargeback (if applicable)? - Demand letter / small claims? - Anything specific that’s worked in the hobby to get a card returned quickly? Appreciate any guidance. I’m trying to be fair, but I also need to protect myself.

Definitely tough….what was the original timeline given for turn around? Some of the card restoration/repair/cleaners I’ve seen generally give you 1-3 months as the turnaround depending on how busy they are. I’m also curious who it is too…I just sent two vintage cards for cleaning but the overall is like 500-600 maybe Hope it all works out as you expect it to but let us know how it goes so we can be aware of situations like this and how to be proactive in protecting our cards!
What’s your hobby?
We spend so much time talking about POKEMON, but what do you enjoy doing when you're not Collecting? Who plays guitar? Who runs marathons? Who reads sci-fi or builds stuff out of Lego? ⬇️ Let us know, what's your hobby (bonus points for pictures) ⬇️ "

Ran a marathon in 2025 but Q4 2025 got crazy and busy. Now just lift, golf (when I can), spend time with family (99%)
Investing Question
You guys were awesome about answering the last question I posted so thank you! As for the next question here goes…. If you sold off all your inventory, and had to reinvest it back into Pokemon: What are you investing in for longer hold? What are you investing in for shorter term profits?

I think it depends on how much cash you intend to invest. $500/$1000/$10K/10k + per month? I’d say most of my purchases are for the long run especially for modern stuff. Buying what I like and also believing what you like will have more value on the long run. Buying sealed ME booster boxes are definitely LONG holds (3 yrs +). SV & SWSH stuff or older can be shorter term flips depending on your entry price and your exit price/goals. All in all…I feel sealed pokemon products are ALL long term holds (mutual funds, IRA, or 401k type investments). Stable with growth over the years. Singles & slabs probably are for “faster” flips or liquidity depending on era… Modern (if you hit big hits early upon release) should be sold high while demand is there and supply is limited. Unless it’s your chase…then it just depends. I still think you can sell it high and buy at a lower price in future (ie :prismatic) Sets that are no longer printed are at supply’s mercy. Rip for fun…but buy cards or slabs for cards you like for price efficiency Vintage….iono; I’m still shook on a psa “10” selling for 16M+. I guess value of vintage is whatever you feel like paying for it since comps are so far apart and prices are all over the place
I did NOT keep it sealed…
Did some gambling tonight with my girl. Got 2 Ascended Heroes PKC ETBS for retail (keeping sealed). Went to the mall day of release and found a $50 AH ETB @ Josh’s Toys. My girl pulled a big one 😄.
I did NOT keep it sealed…

Congrats! My wife’s hands are also heating up…mine are cooling down lol (almost ice cold)
What are AH’s ACTUAL Pull Rates?
I have previously seen the pull rates of AH being extremely low like Prismatic levels. However, I am not sure about that. I have seen multiple pulls, locally & online. I’m not saying everyone is pulling top chases but it is giving me more Brilliant Stars than Prismatic. If you have an opinion I’d love to hear it, I am genuinely curious.

My wife opened an ETB last night. 1 SIR (frostless ex), 1 IR (Weavile), and 1 ex 2 tech stickers - 2 IR 2 tins - nothing lol
