Tea beat Coffee...finally
I've been falling into the infamous bad habit of having a coffee at like 3PM which contributes to that well known crash. I am so proud of myself today, I made a ginger tea instead! I use the actual root. [I'm not a fan of teas in bags] What is your go to afternoon drink these days?

Thank you!! I always always feel so much better with a ginger tea instead of afternoon coffee. I think if I peel & cut up the ginger slices ahead of time, I'll do it more often. I gotta figure that out so it can become my go to.

The women who stay consistent all have this in common
A question I've been sitting with this week, and I wanted to ask you. What's the minimum you do for yourself? Not your ideal day and not the version of eating well that happens when everything goes right, but your floor, the minimum, what you will actually eat no matter what, even on the hard days and exhausting weeks and the times when the wheels are fully off. Because here's what I've noticed working with women on this for years: the ones who stay consistent aren't the ones with the most impressive healthy days, they're the ones who've decided what their floor is and never go below it. One whole foods meal counts, one green food counts, anything intentional counts. What's yours? Drop it below, even if it feels small, especially if it feels small. 👇

I have a couple of minimums in case my day is all over the place. For the most part I usually hit 1 of these, 2 is always the goal. And some days it all goes to ish 😆 but that's part of it. 3 boiled eggs, avocado and tomatoes, that breaks my fast. Been at that for maybe a year now and am not sick of it yet. Soup for lunch. Especially when I have to be on-site with a client. The local deli makes a great soups. Salad. I have a salad with dinner. It's half my play every night.
This Week's Plant-Based Focus: Water + Hydration
I know, I know. You've heard it a thousand times. But hear me out, because I think the way most of us think about hydration is actually missing the point. It's not just about hitting some a certain number of glasses. It's about understanding that almost every single symptom women come to me with, the fatigue, the brain fog, the headaches, the afternoon crashes, the skin issues, dehydration is somewhere in that picture. I've become almost obsessive about this over the past year and the difference it's made in how I feel day to day is hard to overstate. Here's what's actually helped me stay consistently hydrated: • 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁𝘆. By the time you feel thirsty, you're already mildly dehydrated, and mild dehydration is enough to affect your energy, your focus, and your mood. I start every single morning with a big glass of water before anything else, even before my matcha. 💧 • 𝗔𝗱𝗱 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿. Plain water doesn't hydrate you as efficiently without minerals to pull it into your cells. A pinch of good quality sea salt, some lemon juice, or a clean electrolyte powder can make a real difference, especially if you're active or drinking a lot of coffee. • 𝗘𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿. This is one of my favorite things about a plant-based diet, so many whole foods are naturally high in water content. Cucumber, celery, watermelon, zucchini, leafy greens, you're hydrating every time you eat them. 🥒 • 𝗧𝗶𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗱𝗼. I drink a full glass before every meal, which also happens to support digestion and takes the edge off hunger before I sit down to eat. Habit stacking is honestly the only reason I'm consistent with this. • 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂. Coffee, alcohol, and high sodium processed foods all pull water out of your body. I'm not saying cut them out, just factor them in and compensate accordingly. • 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲. Headache? Drink water first. Energy crash at 3pm? Drink water first. Skin feeling dull? You already know what I'm going to say.

thank you for this! im okay at staying hydrated but definitely need these reminders. i want to highlight what you said "almost every single symptom women come to me with, the fatigue, the brain fog, the headaches, the afternoon crashes, the skin issues, dehydration is somewhere in that picture." that was me last year. i was getting ridiculous headaches. stuck in bed level. i listened to a diary of a ceo video with a brain specialist [i forget exactly] and he mentioned this type of salt for migranes. i use this JUST for my water [not to cook]. within a week my migranes were gone and i now know anytime i feel pain coming onthe first thing i should check is whether or not i drank enough water and added my salt.
