Should you delete old videos from your profiles?

Should you wipe your old videos and start fresh? The answer... almost never. Here's why:

Unless you are switching niches entirely, going into a totally new direction that will really confuse the algo, leaving your older posts alone is usually the smartest move. I was in real estate back around 2005, and taught investing. I have well over 100 videos of me talking about real estate on YouTube.

I was also 70 pounds chunkier, and 20 years younger! (OMG, 20 YEARS!)

Keep in mind that most platforms do not judge your account as a whole. They respond to what each individual video does with viewers...

On YouTube, deleting can actually set you back because you are throwing away watch time and viewing history. TikTok and Instagram are similar. Deleting does not magically improve your reach. It just removes data.

If your older videos do not match where your brand is going now, keep them for the algorithm and clean up your profile instead. Archive or private them for clarity if you must, just do not expect it to change how your next post performs.
