How to be productive: Don’t do anything besides the task you set out to do. That’s it. Pick 1 thing - do it! You / your business probably has too many priorities. I know - it’s really hard to pick just one. Choosing just 1 will pay off! Here’s the process: Make a list of all of your priorities. Review the list. Eliminate everything except the biggest one. The one that, if accomplished - makes everything else irrelevant. And there’s always one. If you can't pick - you're waiting for circumstances to decide for you. Prioritizing forces tradeoffs. It hurts. Good. That pain means you're doing it right. Ask yourself: "If all I did was this one thing, and it 2x-3x-5x’d my business, why would I care about doing anything else?" EVERYTHING ELSE IS A DISTRACTION DRESSED UP AS A STRATEGY. The fastest growing companies obsess over one thing. Laser focus. They think really hard about that thing. They eat, sleep & breathe that thing. Pick one thing. Go all in. Forget the rest and watch the seas part as everyone knows exactly where you’re going and why. Want help identifying your one thing? At the top (it' 6 out of 10) one of the biggest challenges I see that both NEW and SEASONED (certainly better than saying old) bookkeepers face is a lack of systems. Consider every task you do on a daily basis (every social media post, every email, all the stuff). If you are having to reinvent the words, posts, etc. every time it's a HUGE waste. Before doing anything ask yourself - will I do this more than once? If you answer if yes find a way to document it so you can easily reproduce it over & over again!
