Two things I know for sure 🥰
There are a two things I know for sure. All small business need bookkeepers. Your next client is out there looking for you! Let's break it down - shall we? All small businesses need bookkeepers. For the simplest reason (filing taxes) to more proactive reasons, business growth, reducing expenses, consistently getting paid. Every small business owner needs a bookkeeper. Now its true some do it themselves, but are they really doing it or just waiting until tax time and then doing a crazy last minute scramble? Maybe their spouse got tricked into doing it - again is it really a priority? Maybe they have someone on staff....here's the truth. Small business owners are pulled thin and often bookkeeping gets kicked to the bottom of the list. What started out a a favor from a spouse may have turned into a task that creates resentment. Employee's leave. Of course not every small business will be an immediate YES, think of your job as sifting through ALL of the small business owners you meet to find the ones that need you. So if we've accepted that all small business need bookkeepers and that our role is to find the one's that need us - where are they hiding?!? In truth they are not. Your next client isn't being elusive. Having an online social presence (i.e. a Facebook business page) is a great way to softly remind those prospects that you are still there ready to help. Think of socials as a subtle way to share thoughts and ideas to a large group all at once. The big question here of course is what should you post and how often. My friends I am so glad you asked. Reply to this post and I'll give you FREE access to SOCIAL MEDIA FOR BOOKKEEPERS!

Nobody cheers for you when you need it most
I don't know where you are right now. Maybe you're exhausted. Maybe you're questioning everything. Maybe you're wondering if the sacrifices you're making will ever pay off. If that's you, keep reading. The truth is, you're going to lose sleep. You're going to second-guess yourself. You're going to make decisions that won't reveal whether they were right or wrong for months—or even years. That's what hard actually feels like. It's paying known costs for unknown rewards. It's walking without mile markers. It's wondering whether you're lost or exactly where you're supposed to be. But there's something powerful hidden in that reality: Most people won't do hard. They'll stop when it gets uncomfortable. They'll turn around when the outcome isn't guaranteed. They'll choose certainty over growth. And every time someone quits, the field gets a little less crowded. When we're younger, we often see difficulty as a warning sign. We think hard means we're doing something wrong. But eventually you realize hard isn't a warning. It's a filter. Every obstacle you overcome is one more person who decided not to continue. Every challenge you survive narrows the competition. You made it through this round. Keep going. And here's an important mindset shift: Stop thinking, "Why is this happening to me?" Start thinking, "Most people wouldn't even attempt this." Because they wouldn't. Another thing nobody tells you about the early stages of success is that your battles often feel unfair. You're fighting with limited resources, limited experience, and limited support. Meanwhile, someone further down the path has tools, systems, capital, connections, and years of hard-earned wisdom. From where you're standing, it looks like they have bigger problems. What you don't see is that your current battle may actually be the harder one. I remember looking at a bank account that had nothing left in it. Even when my husband and I were both working 50+ hours per week. I'm not sharing this because I wanted sympathy.
Having a Great Day
Today I was contacted for a lengthy cleanup job. Several years for several locations. Getting an estimate written up for them. This is a really big company. I am actually starting to get a bit busy and I am glad for it. Hopefully they like my proposal. Fingers crossed.
